  1. Nice job. Should be real accurate too.
  2. While we're at it, let's make Pot illegal so nobody can get that either.
  3. Here's the dope for a Remington factory round with a 180gr Nosler Partition bullet. Scope zeroed at 100. If you're going to shoot out past what Chuck Hawks calls the "maximum point blank range", then you'll have to use some method to compensate for bullet drop. My personal favorite is to dial the drop into a scope with target turrets with the scope zeroed at 100. You gotta know the range, but will have to anyway if your not gonna just lob Hail Marys at the target.
  4. That guy needs an ass whippin'
  5. Here's Capbyrd's build. He's one of the biggest .22 geeks I know. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/long-guns/57550-dedicated-22-ar-platforms.html
  6. Recoil pad
  7. i'm a big fan of Barnes bullets. The 55 grain TTSX is on my list to try.
  8. I almost fell on my ass one day when I was mag dumping my AR, but only because I wasn't paying attention.
  9. Some hollow points are made for accuracy, not expansion. The miltary has used Sierra Matchkings alot in sniper rounds. They're hollow points, but are still legal because they're not designed to expand on impact. I'm guessing there is a lot of good loaded hunting ammo out there for .223 that would work real well as defensive ammo. I have a bunch of brass that will wind up getting loaded with some kind of thumper bullet at some point. I just haven't done the research yet. The sierra gameking is a candidate.
  10. I carry 110 grain Hornady CD in both my .38's. My 637 has enough recoil already, and my Model 36 isn't designed for +P. I haven't spent any time evaluating them, because I normally shoot my semi-autos when mess with handguns. I've always been a little wild with snubbies anyway. As an average joe citizen, I will never see the need to carry a BUG. If I was an LEO, I probably wouldn't be caught without one, but I'm not. I'm trying to avoid gun fights... something that an LEO can't always do.
  11. Naw. Mike is an old fart like us. We can make him the Attorney General. We need one that can shoot a 30-06 without squealing or falling down
  12. You're talking about the kinda folks that think banning free toys in Happy Meals is "protecting the children". They're idiots. Obama isn't doing a bad job for them. He's doing what they want.
  13. Then, there's even one more way to think about all of this... We're screwed, no matter what. NO president has the power to fix it. Only the people can, and that just ain't gonna happen.
  14. No, my girlfriend is a commie (with her own AR-15). You yankee's ain't very nice sometimes
  15. Because party alone won't carry thru the general. Camacho is a fun guy, but I like Not Sure much better.
  16. I would vote for OS, but he's way too smart to run.
  17. Yep. Eggnog is OK with me, as long as it tastes like alcohol . Mine gets at least a shot, usually more.
  18. If the election happened today, I would vote for Newt for a couple of reasons. I don't like Romney much more than Obama, and newt is probably the only one that can beat him. And Newt, like him or not, is probably smarter than the rest. I like Ron Paul the best, but don't think he can pull it off.
  19. Yep. The liberals still like him. I also expect him to run a stout campaign. Not even close to a done deal yet. If the pubs don't put up the right candidate, we could be screwed.
  20. I'm starting to think we'll be lucky to pull that off. Anybody with a brain in their head should know that it really is job 1. I just don't know if there's a critical mass of folks that can sort their priorities well enough to actually get it done.
  21. I don't have the necessesary tools to argue here, but I think you're wrong. We have already heard from a Memphis area LEO. Their SOP is to take the gun in as evidence. I think you're missing an exception somewhere. Maybe Mikepapa or Pat Stegall will pop in with the missing info.
  22. Maybe if people would pay attention and drive, we wouldn't have so many wrecks. Unfortunately, there's a lot of smelly stuff floating around in the gene pool these days. A lot of folks are paying attention, but probably not enough. There's still way too much fat, dumb, and happy to fix much of anything. That goes for Congress AND the general public.
  23. To me, the possible need to remove the gas block is more of a deal than changing muzzle devices. Some folks, maybe most folks, may never have to do that. I've had to do it more than once. Personally, I absolutely hate the combination of an a2 front site and an Eotech. I will (did) replace the A2 with a YHM flipper. A pinned flash hider would have turned that into a nightmare. Instead, I only had to pop for a new crush washer. To top it off, it's a dumbass law, so I'm rebelling in the only way I can
  24. I put rum in mine
