  1. I'm going to wind up having to build one. I'm getting by with a short, heavy table right now. Fortunately, it's in the house.
  2. I used the Classic Cast with Lee's Breechlock system. It worked well, until the press wound up in the box. The absolute best die swapping scheme is on the Forster press. It's literally a 2 second deal.
  3. Consistency is it for me. I have little doubt that I'll get a Giraud trimmer when budget permits. For now, I'll probably slap a Gracey together on the cheap. I always get the cheap stuff first so I can throw it in my reject box . When the box gets full, I'll sell it all on TGO for less than I paid for it. I like to think I'm an optimist. Some folks may think I'm a dumbass . A lot of guys use the Gracey, because it's been around longer. I know I'll get more consistent cases with it than with my current Hornady setup.
  4. Yep. I don't want one THAT badly.
  5. I've seen a bunch of these threads. If you throw out the BS suggestions, and only take the good ones, you need to build at least four. The sooner you get started, the sooner you'll get done.
  6. You have a good point on the rifling. You also have a good point on parts availability. I'm thinkin'... Smith & Wesson M&P | Semi-Automatic Handguns | Smith & Wesson | Gun Parts by Gun Make & Model | Gunsmithing & Gun Parts |=
  7. He shot an unidentified moving target. Orange is irrelevant in this case. I don't disagree with its use, since it can prevent someone from taking a shot when another hunter may be behind a valid target. I think that was the original intent anyway.
  8. Sorry for your loss, Robert. Mine was love at first sight. My parents gave me toy guns since I was old enough to pick one up. Of course, TV and movies had a lot to do with it. My dad let me shoot my first real gun, but I had already been playing with BB guns years before that.
  9. They're on my list. I figure I would need to have a third of my major organs replaced before I could do much high speed stuff. I can lie in the dirt with a scoped rifle, and let the other guy do all the running though
  10. OK, I'm through the first DVD. This is good stuff. The one thing I find most interesting... the Magpul guys are the students.
  11. Another point in the twist debate. We're civilians, so aren't locked into non-expanding bullets for soft tissue work.
  12. That reindeer looks pretty happy. I say live and let live
  13. Headspace problem?
  14. Yep. The Calculus book was too thick :-). The guy that built the upper just eyeballed the hole for the sling swivel stud. So, the first time I broke it down and installed the bag rider, it wasn't level. This was the result. I had to drill another hole. Now the level on the rest, and the level on the scope agree. I don't have a problem with tubes, but I'll build my own upper next time so I don't have to deal with any Bubba crap.
  15. The pictures will probably work without the story...
  16. A buddy's Facebook post ... With the death of North Korean psycopathic nerd Kim Jong Il, his heir apparent is "dictator boy" Kim Jong Un, his 3rd son said to be in his early 20s...all that is known about him is that he went to school in Switzerland, where his former classmates describe him as "weird and creepy", he loves the Chicago Bulls, has the same doofus haircut as his father, and, according to an anonymous high ranking official "doesn't know sh*t"...he has notorious "pony parties" where he and his cronies drunkenly saddle the servants and ride them through the palace, firing old Colt pistols at the windows...nervous ally China is bracing for a "flood of refugees"...
  17. Yep, I'm convinced on the Giraud. If I can get the consistency out of the Gracey, it will be good enough in terms of speed, and I'll have it quicker. I'll try to hook up with David and play with his.
  18. Mounting something on a free float tube is an experience that everybody needs to have once . I have a story, with pictures
  19. Holler at me if you decide on the A2 Operator. I have one that's barely used. It's lighter than the PRS.
  20. I know it's the absolute best. I won't be loading near that much volume. I still need the best consistency I can get. That's why I've been holding out for the Giraud.
  21. Okey likes heavy. His rear bag weighs 15 lbs. Guess it keeps him from twitchin' off the target
  22. Looks great, but I expected that. I haven't seen it in person yet.
  23. I need something. I really would like to get the Giraud, but probably need something cheaper at this point. What does it cost to whip up a Gracey copy?
  24. Yep. Those are ugly, and probably not near as effective. At least the M&P serrations work real well.
