  1. This is a real good deal. Thinking about it...
  2. Great job. You forgot to point out that Bloomberg is a Napoleonic little communist with his head up his ass.
  3. Yep. Noveske is top shelf
  4. Yep. In stock. They were estimating Feb. BTW... I love that thing
  5. You really couldn't have gone wrong either way
  6. Lester, You just about have me sold on the RCBS hand primer. I have about had it with my Lee. Since I started using my forster press, I have developed an appreciation for things without shell holders.
  7. Don't curl your eyelashes while you're driving, and don't carry a loaded handgun in the Peoples Repulic of Illinios. Both need to be in the Survival Guide for Blondes
  8. What's the old saying... you can't fix stupid.
  9. Hi Brian, The first "right thing" she should have done was to check the laws in NY. NYC is downright hostile toward handguns, and that's no secret. Reciprocity is an interesting topic. In this case, she simply didn't do her homework.
  10. I would be interested to know if Noveske installed it as part of the features for that rifle, or as an option. It's possible that somebody added it later. Either way, congrats. It's a real good trigger
  11. Arrested for being a complete idiot. That should happen more often.
  12. I'll be hunkerin'. My safe is full, and ammo is piled up. Let the Happy Meal banning begin
  13. Just a followup... I reread and rethought all of this, and the Giraud is the right decision. I'm sure the Gracey would last a good while with a patient man. But, I would most likely beat it to death with a framing hammer midway thru the first caliber change. When you consider the easy caliber changes, the better precision, and the meplat uniformer option, it's really the only sane choice for me. Now, I just have to find the money. My flip floppin' is over.
  14. I don't know. I just looked at two of mine, and there are no marks. It could just be an older one that was made before they started laser engraving the sides, or they could be Noveske marks. You can always email Geissele and ask.
  15. That's the best approach with any handgun. We all like different things.
  16. I leave the backstraps off so the grip isn't too fat. Gen 4 for me.
  17. Gotta do something with all that rail
  18. Looks like a Geissele SSA. It's my favorite Super Semi-Automatic (SSA®) Trigger
  19. You can always by a parts kit that includes an RRA 2 stage trigger. Those are real nice triggers for the money.
  20. I had it installed before I replaced it with a Geissele. Leaps and bounds??? I would have them in all my rifles if I was running stock triggers. It's worth more than what I paid. A screw for a Larue mount is probably 13 bucks. Welcome to the AR platform
  21. THAT question is how trigger jobs got created . A stock AR trigger is decent by some standards. The $13 Dolomite kit makes it a lot better, and you install it yourself.
  22. On a regular semi-auto trigger job, you reduce the sear engagement, and then retime the disconnector. When it's done, those parts are unique. I had a trigger job done on my Mini 14 by Gun Doc. He's a great smith, and has a reputation as the best Mini 14 trigger guy on the planet. When I got it back, it had a light, crisp single stage feel. I was thrilled until I took it to the range, and found that it was doubling. Had to return it, and it came back as a dramatically improved 2 stage, and the doubling is gone. All of the adjustments were done by filing/stoning parts in the trigger group. You pretty much HAVE to do it that way in a Mini because of Ruger's paranoid policy on FCG parts. On an AR, you can get one with screws. I have a cheesey (Jard) in my varmint AR that has a creepy 1 lb pull. It is barely OK, and WILL get replaced with better parts some day. No way I would have that thing in one of my 16" guns. You can also reduce hammer spring tension, which relieves tension on the sear as well. I makes for a lighter pull, but also reduces the force on the firing pin and increases lock time. There is a safety margin built into hammer spring tension, so you can get away with some reduction. Stock AR triggers suck, but they always work within the manufacturing tolerances used. An experienced guy can work within those sloppy tolerances and make major improvements. The other option is to replace the floppy parts with precision ones. Replacing the parts almost always costs more. It's also probably a little safer and reliable.
  23. Nice looking pistol. Enjoy!
  24. Right. A great (drop in) trigger requires precision machining, and in some cases, higher grade materials. I've been around the block with triggers. The only rifles I have with stock triggers are my Brownings, and a Marlin lever gun that I've never fired. 165 bucks is a steal for precision parts with wire cut sear surfaces. Nothing wrong with a good trigger job either. I wouldn't hesitate to turn Dolomite loose on one of my rifles. The trade-off is that the parts are hand fitted instead of off the rack.
