It's won't make it worse. I did it on the SOCOM to try to make sure that pressures with reloads would be at or below the norm. Don't know if I accomplished it, but was worth a try.

I used it on my .458 SOCOM, and used the last 3 stages on my varmint rifle. I wouldn't use it on a hand lapped barrel.

My vote would be a bad connection. Noisy semis are VERY rare since they stopped using germanium (decades ago). Could be a connector or pot, but most likely a wire. You can probably fix them with a little skill and some time.

While we're throwing numbers around, let's do a little word problem that doesn't involve cherry picking. When wages remain flat, as they have for the last 10 years, and the cost of living continues to increase, more people will slip below the poverty line. This will happen no matter what.
