  1. Yeah. I'm about 10 minutes from Stones river, and about an hour to CHMR. I'll get down there one of these days.
  2. You're confusin' me now, raydog. I always shoot the 100 yard range at Stones River.
  3. My X-Bolt, or Jonnin's BLR? I just have the Hunter. Don't get me wrong on the BLR either. That is one really cool rifle. It just doesn't work like a traditional lever gun. That's why it comes in some serious calibers.
  4. The check station is a huge pain if you have a lot of stuff. I like Montgomery County a lot, but have been there when I couldn't get a lane on the rifle side. It's a serious drive too.
  5. The Browning is an exception. I was talking about real lever guns. One hole at 200 yards? My X-Bolt won't do that, at least not with factory ammo.
  6. I saw that. We've made a good shot or two at the Stupid State Award, but there's lots of competition. I don't think we're ever gonna win it. If we do, I'm gonna get drunk and shoot my AR in the air. :-) (damn smileycons never work when you need 'em).
  7. Yep. Warm, fuzzy, and stupid.
  8. 800 yards is a good haul. A 1" group is going to be 10" at 1000 yards. Lever guns are fairly short range, because of the calibers they come in. I like them too. I have a Marlin 30/30 that I've never shot, but I sure like playing with it :-). I think it's about a 200 yard gun with the old round nose ammo, and you can push it to 300 with the Hornady stuff.
  9. Well... the ammo is expensive, but you only gotta shoot them once
  10. Maybe, but granny won't get away with it. It would have to be someone we wouldn't expect, like those nice Muslim guys.
  11. You're gonna have to let me shoot that thing BTW.
  12. How long are you thinking? The better they get at long range, the heavier they get for hunting. Can't beat a 700. I have one in .270 with a sporter barrel. Nice and light for carrying around. I don't try to shoot it a long distances though. It's a little over a 1 MOA rifle.
  13. You make that choice based on what kind of shooting you are going to do. So... what kind of shooting are you going to do?
  14. This should have gone in the other thread :-)
  15. It's a pretty serious maze. I built all of mine, so I never really totalled up the price. I can post pics, but would have to do some digging to attach a dollar figure. Chances are good that you won't know enough by the time you get your first one. the good news... you can change it. It's only money :-). Go HERE and play... 16. The only thing that will change is the brand of lube
  17. Yep. All my .223 loads go crunch when I seat the bullets. I think all my .458 loads have some spare room.
  18. Must have been trained by Buford Tune
  19. That piece of crap was written by a guy named Rayburn. I'm wondering if he's Randy Rayburn's negligent discharge.
  20. I was new when i took the pic. Now it ain't :-). Still looks new, except for the McDonald's straw in the trickle tube.
  21. ...or get you an electric trickler.
  22. You have to do more than one thing wrong to shoot yourself, or any other unintended target.

    M&P9 vs 1911

A .45 has more recoil, but my girlfriend handles my 1911 just fine. I think she likes my 9mm's a little better. Personally, I think the M&P is a better carry gun because of capacity and weight difference. With that said, it has good trade value, and should go a long way in a trade for a 1911, especially for something like an RIA.
