  1. i'm reasonably sure they can condemn the structure. You know what's next after that.
  2. Yeah. I crapped my britches when I saw the video.
  3. Obama would ban guns if he could. he has ALWAYS voted that way. He just knows better.
  4. We never could get this one to explode. Tried pretty hard too...
  5. Not sure you can fight codes. I've supervised quit a bit of commercial construction, and those folks are god. That's why I would call one of my architect friends and ask, if I thought there was a chance of a strucural issue. They deal with codes every day. I don't know exactly how codes would handle the residential stuff, but they exist to prevent unsafe practices, and have the power to enforce.
  6. "He clearly posed no threat to someone's life". What an idiotic thing to say.
  7. I hope you have also noticed that he tests the water a lot. His little spew about "common sense" gun laws after the Gifford shooting went nowhere. If he tries to pull something now, it will most likely hurt him in the election. If he waits until after the election, the Trayvon frenzy will be long gone.
  8. I can see that... maybe. Gun bans in today's world are bad politics, no matter who is in power. Don't you think they would rather abuse that power with their other nanny state crap? The last gun ban put a serious hurt on them.
  9. With the election coming up? I would surprise me.
  10. I'll wait for another source to confirm.
  11. I'm betting there's no accuracy problem with this one
  12. I would call codes. I don't think anybody will make people act right anymore. But, an outside wall is usually load bearing. If the building is structurally unsafe, codes will probably be all over it. An architect can take one glance and tell you for sure. They can also tell you who to call.
  13. Data archiving is dirt cheap if they dump the wave files to a data DVD. Cell phone codecs are horrible.
  14. You may be right. The first guy is a history major.
  15. I'm not gonna try to one-up you. I'll just say, you weren't that bad at all.
  16. I would just think that they would want to alter the audio as little as possible. I did a project that used mono wav files at an 8kHz sampling rate. No need to compress them.
  17. Obama is our bitch... http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/01/justice/florida-teen-shooting-review/index.html?hpt=hp_t3
  18. Lester, i would think they ARE uncompressed. Bear in mind, it doesn't have to be full bandwidth, since none of the audio is. I took my stuff to 10khz, but onle because it's easy with analog. I figure 2 ways lop off at 5 or 6 khz, and phones at 3k. So, the sampling rate could be under 20k.
  19. I don't have any that i would call high end. None of them jam. I see what you're saying though. If I was gonna abuse one, a High point is probably a perfect choice. I baby mine.
  20. Would you guys please take it down a little? This ain't over yet, and I would hate to see the thread locked.
  21. Ugly and heavy are the consistent comments from the folks that know better. I've never picked one up, but I can confirm the ugly part. There's definately a place in the world for them. There is a number of reasons I like and own guns. None of them apply to the High Points except for a reliable bang.
  22. We may have argued about some stuff thru all of this, but I'm happy to say, I agree 100%
