  1. At least you won't get shot. Guns are illegal.
  2. You don't keed a Rabbi. You can fix it with an ice pick, a few grains of Varget, and a Bic lighter. You would think the guy named MacGyver would have figured that one out.
  3. Just read up on the Aftec extractor. JMB had almost and obsession with leaf springs. I have an old (100ish) shotgun he designed, and everything was leaf springs except for maybe the safety detent. The Aftec looks like a real solution in today's world. I'll probably pop for one of them just because it's a permanent long term fix. Pricey, but worth it to me.
  4. Sarah is a scab on humanity. Good for the shooter.
  5. Tough crowd in this thread
  6. I had no intention to buy a new toy. Something just came over me. Besides, I'm going to need something to shoot all this .45 I'm fixin' to start loading, since my 1911's don't work . Seriously, if this shortie needs a new extractor, I'll be tracking you down. I already bought a Wolff recoil spring cal kit. Slide to frame fit is great for a factory gun. Ramps and chamber are smooth as a baby's butt.
  7. THIS is a major point. I bought my short 1911 with full knowledge of their finicky nature. That included the possibility of having to fit a new extractor. You were the first guy that came to mind. In fact, there's an Ed brown extractor and firing pin stop sitting in my wish list at Midway. I bought a Glock 36 yesterday. Same basic size. It will be interesting to compare the two.
  8. That's because you are the 99% (folks whose 1911's don't work). I just bought a new G36 today, so I can keep shooting when MY 1911 doesn't work. Same basic size as the G19. Just has a bigger hole in the end.
  9. I just bought another 45 today. Oops.
  10. Good luck, Gordon. I'll be thinking about you.
  11. Correct. So, it was left up to those hacks at Colt.
  12. The P01 went thru some of the toughest endurance testing in the world, and passed with flying colors. Mine had an NSN number.
  13. I figured that. Just get me to my rifles.
  14. I'll bet Osama's AR would jam in the desert. Word is, he had lube all over his hands
  15. Glocks, XD's, & M&P's at 80%? We're all screwed
  16. You rang? I got my Arfs so I didn't have to use the same gun as Osama
  17. I don't know if I would go that far. You're an M&P guy. They had striker issues in some of those guns early on. They are plenty reliable now, as you know. I have always had a general rule of thumb. If the cops will carry it, so will I.
  18. Why do you worry about people worrying?
  19. I have tried to buy their revolvers more than once. I like the price too. When it came down to it, I walked out with a Smith and Wesson every time. They're just sloppier. I know they work. I know they look good. Just can't do it. I don't think I have ever played with one of their autos, but that's because of my experiences with their revolvers.
  20. Make that two of us
  21. I don't think it was unprofessional either. Just saying what he sees in his classes. A lot of those types don't like ANY 1911's. Me... I'll be carrying one or two mags. If it get's uglier than that, I'll ditch all the handguns.
  22. Don't misunderstand me either. I know they're finicky. They're also really cool, if I can make mine work. I don't care if it will shoot after I crap down the barrel. I don't do that to any of my pistols.
  23. No, but they're firing a short stubby round with a short stroke.
