  1. I just spent a few bucks on this. Haven't tried it yet, but they say it's the cat's meow. I like pretty ammo :-) http://www.midwayusa.com/product/816895/flitz-brass-case-polish-76-oz-liquid
  2. Don't forget the RIA operator. That's a great stock, and that's coming from a Magpul slut.
  3. The state will go Red anyway. I'm all for Ron getting his message out. Just hope it doesn't help the commie win the election.
  4. Yep. The MOE is fine. I don't plan to ugrade it. If buying new though, I'll pop for the CTR because I like the friction lock. I never really noticed the slop in the MOE until I had both.
  5. The ACS now comes with QD. If you wind up with an older one, it can be added for 15 bucks (Magpul price)
  6. It depends on the rifle. Definately the CTR over the MOE. The friction lock and QD swivels are worth it. My MOE stock is a little floppy compared to my CTR. I have an ACS as well. Great stock, but bigger and heavier than the CTR. Weight matters to me.
  7. It would be politically incorrect to explain.

    Mil Dot and MOA

Not true. 16" barrels can be very accurate. There's a hit in velocity, so you're bullets will run out of smoke before they will from a 24" barrel. That happenns WAY past 100 yards.
  9. The PST is gonna eat his budget. At least the one I want will.

    Mil Dot and MOA

That's quite a bit of work just to avoid a Mil Dot . I have one of the Nikon BDC scopes. It has it's pros, but I prefer Mil dot.
  11. Looks like a jumbo tank for a propane torch. I figure it will last for several beers before you have to change it.
  12. Some of us, like me, have become more accepting of OC because of these threads. Personally, I like to be as far under the radar as possible. That doesn't mean everybody has to do it my way. There are quite a few folks that open carry successfully every day. More power to them. With that said, I'm a lot less accepting of somebody that sets out to prove something with open carry. If it's something that makes us all look like idiots, or can negatively impact MY right to carry, then I have a dog in that fight.
  13. Yep. Annealing parties will be popular events.
  14. Nekked face-eating white guys (zombies).
  15. Yep. I was swapping a handguard for a fellow TGO'er. He had to buy the upper reciever block and a special tool for the free float guard. Still needed my armorer's tool for the barrel nut. Then, there was the weeked trip to Outpost for a gas block. Had to Dremel the pins out of the factory DPMS block. Like DaveTN said... you may be better off buying one,

    Mil Dot and MOA

This one is on my short list. Not sure which reticle yet... http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-pst-6-24x50-ffp-riflescope-with-ebr-1-moa-reticle/reticle
  17. Yep. My 1911's suck too.
  18. I have taken a DPMS down as far as pulling the barrel, gas block, etc. They're real similar, just quite a bit beefier. As I understand it, parts compatability between brands isn't near as good as the AR-15 Platform. I didn't see anything wrong with the DPMS rifle (for what little I know about them). The standard AR-15 tool fit the barrel nut on that one.
  19. Thanks for taking the heat off me. LOT's of G19 fans around here
  20. It's pretty hard to go wrong. I own a dozen hanguns, and don't really have a favorite. My tastes have also changed over time. I disliked Glocks for years, and now own three. I lean towrd them for carry because they're light, simple, and very reliable. If you're like most of us, your first one won't be your last.
  21. Guess we're about due. While we're at it... GLOCKS SUCK
  22. What Caster said. All of my match grade bullets are hollow points. They are real small holes. Even military snipers use Matchkings. They're allowed because they're not designed to expand.
  23. I think it's fairly new. I haven't bought yet, but will get the Giraud when I do.
  24. Get a crush washer. You should be able to get that done easily in Texas.
