  1. There are a couple out there that are real close. The difference is that it's a SAAMI approved round, so there's lots of support from manufacturers. Again, I don't mind buying the brass, since it's available from a couple of different manufacturers, and not that expensive.
  2. i have a 19, 23, and 36. They all use the same holster.
  3. I prefer to think of it as an AK that doesn't rattle . I'm just starting to look into it. Haven't compared any loads yet.
  4. Sounds like it may need to be shot.
  5. My day is fine. I had to go buy a couch and loveseat so the girl would quit bitchin'. Needless to say, there won't be any bitchin' about my new Blackout build either. I hear what you're saying about buying American. I have owned a bunch of S&W in my life, and have no bones to pick with those folks. With that said, I love my Brownings, and there is no US made version. I love my Glocks too. I'm all about loyalty, but won't insist on buying Amercan at the expense of getting what I want for the money.
  6. Ah. You're welcome to borrow mine.
  7. Brand? I have a Competition Electronics. That's why I'm asking. Mine has lied to me with .458 SOCOM. I haven't tried it since I put the brake on. Could have just been a buttload of muzzle blast.
  8. Different goal here. If I do one of the BR calibers, I'll do it in a bolt gun.
  9. Which chronograph are you using?
  10. Gonna be Spike's receivers and a Spike's BCG (I think). Also thinking about a Daniel Defense Lite Rail. Haven't picked a barrel.
  11. Geez Dave! Ask Tim Calhoun about my POS 1911 made in the Phillipines. I'm not going to limit my purchases to American made weapons. You need to slap that Chinese keyboard for being extra crabby today
  12. Just checked. Primed brass (AA brand) is 26 cents or so. The problem with making your own is that it probably needs to be annealed after it's necked down. I'll pop for a couple of boxes of factory ammo, and load the rest.
  13. Won't work. All the best lies come the last 30 days of the election cycle, and it would be hard to coordinate that with tax day. Besides, I'm normally all kinds of pissed off when I'm doing my taxes, and generally want to vote ALL those thugs out of office. Don't think you'll get the career politicians to pony up for that idea.
  14. I ain't skeered of the brass issue. I'll buy factory 300 blk brass. Can't be as expensive as .458 SOCOM brass, and there's no way to make that stuff. I love Lee dies. BTW... I may hunt you down when I get the stripped upper. Probably want to square this one up before I install the barrel.
  15. I'm starting a new AR build, and am leaning heavily toward the 300 BLK. Somebody talk me out of it. I reload anyway, and will definately reload for this caliber. I have some 5.56 AR's, and one in .458 SOCOM. I plan to assemble the upper and lower from scratch. I DON'T plan to use subsonic ammo or a supressor. It will probably be a 16" barrel, and may wind up with a muzzle brake.
  16. It would be hard to fine the folks that have been dead for 30 years. Good thing they always vote
  17. What's to debate? It's a possibility with open carry. Personally, I'm more concerned with a running grab than having one taken away at gun point. I refuse to use a Serpa.
  18. Jon Stewart bashed fast and furious two nights in a row. hard core right wingers aren't the only ones that are pissed. Can't say as much for the major networks.
  19. There are parts of north city that are just about as bad. If you're going to train for urban warfare in a third world country, it's a good choice.
  20. I hope you can share a few with my powder order.
  21. You're pretty smart for a guy that wears toe shoes! I agree.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.458_SOCOM the .458 SOCOM came about from informal discussion of members of the special operations community, specifically Task Force Ranger's experience that multiple shots were required to neutralize members of the opposing force in Mogadishu during Operation Gothic Serpent.
  23. I have a Jewell on my 700 that came set to 1lb. It's just about right for me. I have a 1lb trigger on my AR that I use for precision stuff too. That's light enough for me to make accurate shots.
  24. Yep. We discussed crimp. Brass type, and how many times it's been fired will scott the numbers around a little. I'll probably start out with some new Winchester brass and some lighter bullets. May even dump some into Lapua brass with the Bergers.
  25. I just hollered at David. He's at the machine gun shoot on OK. We're gonna hook up at the first of the week.
