Same thing, so I've read.

For what it's worth, just got this from Romney in an email... Friend, Today, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare. But regardless of what the Court said about the constitutionality of the law, Obamacare is bad medicine, it is bad policy, and when I'm President, the bad news of Obamacare will be over. It was always a liberal pipedream that a 2,700 page, multi-trillion-dollar Federal Government takeover of our health care system actually could address the very serious problems we face with health care. With Obamacare fully installed, government will reach fully half of the economy - that is the recipe for a struggling economy and declining prosperity. On Day One, I will work to repeal Obamacare to stop the government's takeover of our health care and intrusion in our lives. I will push for real reform to our health care system that focuses on helping patients and protecting taxpayers. We cannot afford Barack Obama's on-the-job learning, Big Government proposals, and irresponsible spending. Our basic liberties are at stake - and I will fight to restore our freedoms, renew the respect for our Constitution, and halt the government takeover of health care. This November it's all on the line. The stakes couldn't be higher. Donate $10 or more to put a stop to the policies of Barack Obama and the liberal Democrats. Thanks, Mitt Romney

If I wind up doing my own cases (and that's a big if), I have an RCBS power trimmer that was made for this kind of stuff.
-
Mine wound up being 1:8. BTW: Where can I find a stock of UMC supersonic ammo at a decent price around Nashville?
-
They're great. I never bought one of their assembled products, but buy from them all the time. Their rifles have a great reputation.
-
Wouldn't have it any other way.
-
I agree

I'm just gonna use my cheesey Prochrono for 100 bucks. I looked at all available when I bought it BTW, and price wasn't a factor.

I have an Omega on one of my 5.56 carbines. They're great too. The think I really like about the Lite rail is the fact that the gas tube doesn't go thru the barrel nut. So, you torque it to optimum. It's also one piece. The Omega is two piece, so it has flat head screws thru the left and right rails. Yeah. I was gonna drag my feet on this one. Worked out like all the rest.

I will. I'm gonna toss a Nikon scope on it for now so I can check accuracy and work up some loads. Then I may stick a red dot on it. It's gonna be a light carbine.
-
Starting the get fired up. Over half of the rifle parts just arrived. I'm thinking it's gonna be a great build. The DD rail is a work of art. The barrel looks great too.

Yes. It knows detailed geometry of the case as specified. It doesn't know the slight difference between Winchester and Lapua brass. It knows the bullet geometry and weight. Look at the fields in the screen shot, and you can figure a lot of it out. BTW, you can edit most of the database fields.

Man allegedly draws gun on neighbor for passing gas
mikegideon replied to mcurrier's topic in General Chat
FTFY. Personally, I admire somebody that can muster up a good enough fart to make a man reach for his gun. I've lived on a pretty steady diet of soul food when I was working in Memphis, but never got that good at it. -
Nope. The algorithm is generic.

You may be a little confused about how Quickload works. It doesn't have factory loads. It's strictly roll your own. Here's a screen shot of a .223 workup...
-
My gun should be running this weekend. Don't have dies yet. EDIT: Quickload has over 1200 cartridges in it's database. I haven't ever looked for anything that wasn't there. Has over 2500 bullets too.
-
Or some judicious use of Quickload and a chrony. The 300 blk cartridge is in my quickload database.

My basic take on subsonic... You need to speed up the burn rate some compared to supersonic stuff. Dolomite has pearls of wisdom. I know he's played with subsonic in other calibers.

Lester, Bad antialiasing filters are a thing of the past. Not only do they suck, but they're expensive. Current technology uses extreme oversampling, and the analog antialiasing filters are simple. The sharp cutoff filters are done in the digital domain, and are FIR (finite impulse response) type filters. They are phase linear in the passband. You will still see a "ring' in the square wave response, but it will be equally distributed between the rising and falling edges, and will be about half the amplitude of the rising side only ring with a minimum phase filter. You can flatten the group delay of a minimum phase filter with allpass sections, but it normally requires more allpass poles than the number of poles in the lowpass. Fun to design, but not near as practical as just doing FIR. That's my spew on antialiasing filters off the top of my head. I may have missed something, 'cause I'm old.

New Video on Zimmerman's Account of Fatal Fight

Perfect! You can defend yourself, except when you really need to. -
Let 'er rip. Since the barrel and other parts are showing up today, my questions are answered. You have the right folks on this thread. There's some load data out on the net. I haven't found any pressure tested data yet.

I'm guessing they'll take their baiting to places like Chicago, where the pillaging can happen without armed intervention.
