Just stole this off CNN's web site... "Speaking aboard Air Force One as the president flew to meet with families of those killed in Friday's shooting, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Obama did not have plans to push for new laws in light of the Colorado massacre. "The president's view is that we can take steps to keep guns out of the hands of people who should not have them under existing law. And that's his focus right now," Carney said Sunday, adding it was too early to determine how the issue would play in the election."

I missed the FAA part. That will do it. I've dealt with those guys some over the years. They get a quick response out of me, for obvious reasons.

There is also an antenna height limit for base station antennas. I AM surprised the FCC nailed anybody for it. They used to just show up and take your gear.

My buddy told me I could ace the electronics side of the advanced, but would have to bone up on the rules a little. That's really why I haven't done it. Reading FCC rules makes my noggin hurt

I figured. The commercial licenses were broken into elements. You had to pass them in order to get to the highest class.

There was another thread awhile back. A ham buddy told me you can go straight to general if you can pass the test. That's the way it always was with commercial FCC licenses.

Even with the Assault Weapons Ban, an incredibly stupid moment in our history, there was no confiscation. The most rabid gungrabbers don't realize that the government is never going to be able to take expensive property away from a huge chunk of the population, and they certainly can't afford to buy them. If there is another ban, everything will be grandfathered in place. AR-15's, high cap mags, etc. are common as mud, and will be forever. If they want a gun free utopia, they're just gonna have to move. I suggest France.

I've thought about getting mine since they dropped code requirement, and just can't justify the time. My gun hobby consumes all of that. I also deal with high power radio transmitters and antenna systems in my job, so it would be kinda like work for me. I've had a commercial license since I was young and stupid .
