  1. We got into this before. There's probably luck involved making the real long shots, just because of the accuracy limitations of the rifles. State of the art today is a pocket computer, so you might as well leave it turned on. The longer a bullet is in the air, the more those factors come into play. They didn't develop the .338 Lapua to kill muzzies at 600 yards. Unlike the 50 BMG, it's primary function is an anti-personnel round. It's just getting warmed up at 1000.
  2. It can almost be ignored inside 1000. Significant at a mile.
  3. A 400 lb fat girl makes a good target. Some of them are 3 MOA at 1000 yards.
  4. Distance sure makes it more difficult. 1 MOA is 10 inches at 1000 yards. Windage is tough. It's easy to compensate for wind until it changes, and it usually does... between shots. At least elevation is easy
  5. I know it's Wiki, but has some decent info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M40_(rifle) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M24_Sniper_Weapon_System
  6. This covers it pretty well... http://store.magpul.com/product/DYN008/169
  7. http://www.accuracyinternational.com/index.php ... really.
  8. It clamps around the barrel nut. That's how the gas tube is able to align seperately.
  9. Don't know. Haven't been able to shoot it yet. It may not.
  10. The Lite rail is awesome. Barrel nut torque and the gas tube hole arent related, so you don't have to crank the nut down until the hole lines up. I have an Omega on one of my carbines too. The light rail is cooler, but you have to use their barrel nut.
  11. That's what I did on my last build. Mid-length DD Lite rail over carbine gas. It was a 300 blackout, so I couldn't use a middy gas system.
  12. I like electricity up the ass best. Why didn't he get life? Maybe somebody in the pen will give him the Dahmer special.
  13. I might actually do #1 if there was some .45 brass mixed in
  14. Carbine, midlength, and rifle ARE gas system specs. Most handguards don't cover the gas block.
  15. We have all done stupid stuff in our lives. Stings, doesn't it? Sounds like you may have learned a thing or two. Welcome back, and try to stay off the TV
  16. Dave, I agree with most of what you said. But, how did the Republican party let us down? There was a wide field of candidates in the beginning, and citizen primary voters whittled it down to one.
  17. My thumbs work pretty good too. I only have maybe 9 rounds of 50. May have to beef up DaddyO's backstop a little.
  18. Yep. They had the best chance just sticking with the economy. Idiots
  19. Magpul numbers
  20. Bring one of your M16's for me and I'll mash the trigger. I'll even bring my own ammo.
  21. 7, 9. 12
  22. Mine isn't, but it's current generation.
  23. Yep. You can't storm the Alamo with 3 fat chicks and a dog.
  24. They obviously haven't seen your urban assault Toyota. You're as ready as it gets
