Most power outages are tripped protection. Resetting the protection is always complicated by "cold start" currents. Almost everything draws more current when you first turn it on, especially motors and light bulbs. Long term outages normally come from things like hurricanes and tornadoes, Stuff that requires construction work to restore the actual wiring. One of these days, a thread like this will inspire me to see if anybody has actually modeled widespread failure of oil filled transformers on the grid with one of these scenarios. Transformers are tough, especially since they're all fused. Resetting a large portion of the grid is time consuming, because you just can't throw the coal to it. Still, it's a real different deal than widespread component failure.

At least Romney's people will see it, and have a chance to combat it. Johnson doesn't have the money to fight swift boating. If it gets serious, the super pacs may just take his ass out. We shouldn't forget that money = power, and the Pubs have a ton of it.

I own Eotech and Aimpoint. Not those models, but the choice between the two spans most of their models. I like the sight picture on the Eotech much better. You can't beat the battery life on the Aimpoint. Both are great optics... can't go wrong with either.

I'm a true Romney supporter at this point. I'm not worried about him dealing with Obama so much. He just has to win a LOT of states. If Johnson flips just one of them the wrong way, it could cost us the whole thing. You just gotta call that what it is... a supplemental campaign for Obama.

I'm not so sure the Repubs didn't hit a home run with their nomination this time. I don't give a rat's ass about anything but the economy at this point. Vaginas, abortion, God, blah blah blah doesn't matter. Results... plain and simple. If voting for Johnson impacts the results, then it's anything but weak. Of course, you have to believe that the economy CAN be jump started. I firmly believe that it can. I think Obama is really hurting it. I also don't believe that he can fix it... not with his values. Anyway, I hope he pushes the affordable ammo act. Since things are going to continue to decline, I'm gonna need some help

I'm an M&P fan too. With that said, I swapped my M&P9 to Duce for a G19 in the Chili's parking lot . I own a 19, 23, and 36. I'm happy with all 3, and plan to hang on to them. i liked my M&P, but don't miss it.
