He's not the governor of a blue state anymore. That has nothing to do with now. Everything I've read about that legislation was that is was actually an improvement in gun rights over what it replaced. What would he have gained by vetoing the legislation, and possibly derailing something much more important. Gun laws in Mass are just gonna suck. He may have helped make them better. Jesus himself couldn't make them not suck. He has been clear about his pro 2a position as president, which is what's on the table now. He doesn't have an anti-gun agenda. Obama does.

I'm still thinking Romney by a hair. The media's tone has softened after the debate, and Romney is gradually tuning his message. He may not stomp Obama in the next two debates, but he won't have a devastating loss either. I think Ryan is gonna slaughter Biden. I think Obama has blown his wad, and think Romney has been carefully holding his guns. It IS gonna be close, and Johnson could wind up pooching him in a critical swing state. I also think there's something to the criticism of the polls credibility. Rove and others have some good points. Not sure I would bet money either way at this point.

I love 1911's, and own a couple. One is an A1 government, and the other is an officer size, which is good for carry. I also love .45 ACP, and reload for it. With all that said, I usually carry a Glock 36. Lots of good 1911 brands in all price ranges. I may carry one of mine if I'm in the mood, but always find myself grabbing the Glock because of reduced weight and complexity. I have no evidence that my Glock is more reliable since I got my 1911 tuned, but there is an additional feeling of confidence with the Glock.

There is a reason that bans normally include a grandfather clause. All those EBR's have huge monetary value. The government will never be able to reemburse citizens for even the fraction of that value. So, even outlawing them is the stuff of banana republics. That wouldn't (couldn't) be resolved peacefully. It would just strongly reenforce one of the main reasons that folks own those types of weapons to begin with. 5% of the gun owners would would be tough to deal with.
