  1. The Eotech is gonna be about the same deal. I can just see a dot with it.
  2. I guess Obammy pissed 'em off... http://www.nraila.org/media-center/2012/nra-one-vote.aspx
  3. You gotta be the king of stuck cases. Did you ever pick up an RCBS lube pad?
  4. I have a little astigmatism. I can't see a clean dot in my Aimpoint. That's one of the main reasons I like the Eotech better.
  5. Doctors ain't touching my eyes or my johnson. They is what they is.
  6. You can't adjust it out with the scope? Most of my scopes are dialed in for my reading glasses. I have to spin them a good ways to focus them for naked eye. Got tired of switching glasses when I had to move a dial.
  7. Different animal. The 6.5 Lapua is a candidate for the bolt gun I'm gonna build. I'm leaning toward 30-06 though. I like that 1000 ft/lbs of energy at 1000 yards.
  8. I would have to do some digging on bullet availability. The 308 has some serious ass behind it. Don't worry about your eyeballs. A 20 year old can't see the target without good glass.
  9. Text from Cheney: Call me... I have some pointers!
  10. Yep. There's another one that says your AR collection will grow to the size of your safe. In my case, it pushed one rifle out of the safe.
  11. Good long range caliber. I've avoided it because of limited availability. I doubt that all the Marine snipers switched. I'm guessing the .308 still has a longer kill range.
  12. The one on the left has an Aimpoint on it now. That's the 300.
  13. Yes and yes. I'm not familiar with the fine details. I know the 9mm guns are blowback instead of gas, and require different buffers. I thought about sharing lowers when I got the first one. Here's a picture of my success...
  14. Nope. The .308 and others with that kind of power require the AR-10 Platform. A .308 won't even fit thru the mag well of an AR-15. If you're gonna do accurate shooting (at any serious range), you'll have to use .223 or 6.5 Grendel. I have .223, 300 Blackout, and .458 SOCOM. The .458 is the only one that will slap the bejesus out of something, and it's limited range.
  15. Scratch #1. Different platform. BTW... you mean you bought a stripped LOWER, right? IMO, a marksmaship-centric rifle needs a real different stock than a scrappin' rifle. The lower will wind up favoring one function over the other.
  16. Look at Red Bull. They did two things recently that Obama and his crew couldn't do. Put a man in space, and won a presidential debate.
  17. It's a Glockapalooza in Duce Land. Nice scores . I really like that 19. I'm stuck on Gen 4 now, but that one is almost pretty.
  18. OK... but that drug would become profitable if many more people had the disease. Enter the Obama solution. We don't need the government driving up energy costs when the economy is in the tank. Greenpeace can kiss my ass.
  19. Yep. If I ever see gunfire coming out of a locomotive, I'll think of you first . Then, I'll probably call and see if you'll stop and pick me up.
  20. I've known quite a few folks, mostly engineers, in that biz, especially when I lived in St. Louis. Most were on the defense side, so I couldn't get them to say anything about work. Usually talked about women and baseball
  21. I don't think we should stop. I think we should keep it from wrecking the economy, like the current administration is doing now. AFIK, the space program had zero ROI.
  22. I sometime use it as stress relief. Poke the crazy man and see if he blows
  23. Yep. He nailed it again.
  24. Why would it take the oil companies? The railroads weren't overtaken by railroad guys. If there's a market and a REAL engineering solution, the funding can and will come from capitalists. Happens every day.
  25. This. Green energy ahead of much higher priorities is what we have now. In my job, I manage a HUGE list of things to do. If it makes in on the list at all, it's worthwhile. Some items sit on the list for months before I can allocate any manpower to them. We are driven by priorities and budgets. If we lose track of either, I'll be looking for another job. Obama has a problem with priorities and budgets. On top of that, his subordinates are as incompetent as him. That's why HE needs to be looking for another job.
