This will help explain him. Technically, he was in the right, but it took great restraint to refrain from beating him severly.
Where is one of those "bad" cops when you need them? He needed a good slap.

The big question - concealed or open?
mikegideon replied to Pat's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The argument can be made that he threatened to shoot me, and I believed him. -
I'm hoping that question mark was accidental because I'm not sure who here will check your math to confirm this... I bow before Lester lol
Yeah. I'm glad he made his brain hurt . I took another pass at all the Chrony's today. I'm sticking with my CE. The only other one I would consider is the Oehler.
They don't have to be clocked to any certain position.
Right. If there's no backing nut or crush washer, it's gonna clock where it wants to.

A Last Minute Appeal To Libertarians And Non-Voters
mikegideon replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You know, you guys who lambast libertarians for their support of Johnson or Paul are no different from the ones who lambast you for supporting Mutt.
True. Hope nobody's taking it personally. -

300 Blackout as a "End of Times" caliber
mikegideon replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Slow twist is paramount. I have not seen one damn thing to support this caliber's need for a fast twist.
Except for AAC's recommendation. This ain't a wildcat. -
Well, we all talk about sitting back on a rooftop wasting zombies to a preselected soundtrack. If they are good to their word, we'll get our wish. My only complaints will be all the cleaning I'll have to do on my rifle and all that brass I'll have to pick up, tumble, process and reload. Dangit! I just got caught up on my reloading!!!
I didn't think about a rooftop. The gutters will catch the brass. Thanks!
They're too busy with the Victoria Secret models

Nope, I meant the small groups of people start acting out on their own because they think the world is ending due to what they see around them.
Kinda hard to do that with the National Guard deployed.
If I do build another AR it will eat nothing but lightweight, superfast stuff. Like 85-110g loads. An 85g Tokarev bullet over a greedy charge could get close to 3K. Also, 110g V-max or Ballistic tips are particularly nasty too.
I got lots of 110 Vmax's, in the box and loaded. The 125 Noslers are sexier. -
Its all good Dave. While I like Alex, I dont take everything that comes out of his mouth as truth, but more as speculation, unlike many people that do. I like his stance on a lot of issues facing our nation, but not everything is a conspiracy. And thinking now days is something that not many people know how to do anymore for themsleves, but instead let the large media outlets do it for them. Its not hard to see that.
Alex is nuttier than a squirrel turd. He's not helping.

Lester!!! I have been putting off going thru the math. I love it when you go full geek on us . Fact is, precision in a chrony should be a non-issue. I may actually pick up one of the M2's, even though it has a fairly low rating (3.1) on the Midway site. It does have some sexy features.
Joking??? I'm in my bunker right now! The past few months the interwebz has told me that this week will see the end of free elections, nationwide martial law, gun confiscation, widespread rioting and the total breakdown of our system of government. This is end times!!! God for forbid the Obamapocalypse doesn't happen... we'll have egg ALL over our faces.
At least we won't have to do much killin', since others are even more prepared. I'm worried about Link though. Being in Memphis, he could easily be killed and eaten before he can reach for his Glock .
Yeah I just read the updated article.
Not that it wasn't real believable. I've dealt with the IBEW. They can be that way... usually are.
This is awsome too. http://www.nj.com/ne...ew_from_al.html It appears the Unions are telling people that come to help to go home. How retarded. ETA: oops. Now they say its ok to stay. Go figure. This is the level of garbage I was trying to imply.
Debunked yesterday by Christie himself on TV.
You forgot your "sarcasm" flag for the slow among us.
'cause it was totally out of character for TMF
And here come the renegades
You mean the folks that have never been to a hurricane? It's hard to get a good feel by watching TV.
-
Like they did during Katrina? I dont think they were under martial law either, but guns still got taken, and idiots still gave them up, and people still got taken to makeshift camps all while looting continued. There were even reports of police getting in on the action. How did they help again? Not saying they should walk away, but perhaps go back and take a look at how these situations have been handled in the past. Another example of how FEMA was unprepared again, but yet gets millions upon millions of our tax dollars and their actions and response do not justify the cost of their operation as an emergency management agency.
Katrina was an isolated case... thug mayor and cops. I don't think the National Guard had anything to do with that
-
No, clearly this is a case of the government attempting to strip rights away from people. That's what they do... wring their hands in dark smokey rooms, waiting for a natural disaster to happen so they can swoop in and do evil deeds.
Well, I've been through a bunch of those road blocks, since I wasn't subject to any curfews. I always left feeling like they were on my side. I'm thinking you've been to a hurricane or two, and understand what it's really like.

300 Blackout as a "End of Times" caliber
mikegideon replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I been itchin' to try these half jackets, http://www.midwayusa...cket-box-of-100 THis is probably the best caliber i have ever worked with. I'm seriously considering another swing at an AR build. All NEW components this go 'round.
You need to do another AR. I think you should do something like Dolomite, since you two are charter members of the weird ammo club . I would be hunting a differen't gas block. I'm betting there are some different designs that are less prone to lead fouling. -
The National Guards ALWAYS shows up. It's common for them to lock down areas like barrier islands because that's where most of the real destruction happens. They locked down Perdido Key after Ivan. It's a GOOD thing.
-
Last time I saw that was in Vero Beach, FL after a hurricane. The National Guard had the barrier island locked down. Common practice.
Crap. Does this mean I need to go to the range and practice shooting my pistols horizontally like a gangster? What color bandana am I supposed to wear?
Pistols? Naw.
