What Romney thinks about gun control is now moot. Surely to God the Republicans will come up with someone stronger than Romney for the next election. Is there not anyone worth a chit that wants this job? Good grief.... four years sounds like an eternity.
It's gonna be tough, be we don't HAVE to lose anything, if we can ever tell the difference between friend and foe. If it wasn't for the NRA, we would be there right now.
Um. Go look at her track record, does she not pop this littel jewel out, like most every Congressional session? She is awful. Yet, still gets relected. So, I think she does this to play up for her constituents. Seems to keep getting her elected.
What he said.
Fair enough, I see why you would feel that way. I would like to know what exactly Romney said that led the NRA to endorse him.
Why? So you can check their work? That's why I pay those guys. No offense, but your independent assessment of their meeting wouldn't outweigh theirs anyway. They've been doing it for a long time.
This is some interesting logic Mike. So your saying if Obama suddenly ran out and bought a lifetime NRA membership and claimed he had a love for hunting you would rest easy at night because he is telling you this? Regardless of his past? I feel as if you swapped their records around and put the R next to Obama and the D next to Romney you would be defending Obama. Not sure why we are even arguing about this any more though, it's over. Can we switch back to black panthers?
If you're gonna quote my logic, try reading my post. The NRA vetted him. If the NRA were to meet with Obama and endorse him, I would probably believe them. FAT chance of that happening.
So let me see f I understand all of this. If Republicans become just like Democrats, we can get some of the Dem's voters, while the conservatives move to third parties. Exactly how is this a winning strategy ? It seems to me that conservatives need to teach the voters why smaller Government less spending, less taxes and controlling the borders are the best things for more people.
It wasn't about that, at least not in terms of running folks off. It was rape, abortion, homos, and jesus. Smaller government never made it on some of the women's radar. They were too busy covering their crotches and running for the hills.
I agree that O hasn’t done much to infringe on gun ownership. But he has said that he would like to see all semi-autos banned. Can he get that done? I don’t think so. Will he try? Of course he will he has no reason not to. I think the fear comes from the fact that he doesn’t like being told “No†whether it comes from the people or from Congress. Am I going to pay an inflated price for guns or ammo? No, and neither should anyone else here.
I'm gonna pay an inflated price for an annealing machine, so I can stretch the life of my brass .

Strick, it doesn't matter WHEN Romney started his pro gun stance. It only matters that he's pro gun now. You hold folks to their current contract, not to one they had with somebody else. If the NRA hadn't vetted him, there would be some room to ponder. At least Obama is starting to prove himself as anti-gun. We may even get a chance to see him top Romney's all time evil. Obama is dealing with a much tougher crowd.
It would have gone to the democrats in the same percentages regardless the nominee. Blacks do not feel welcomed in the republican party.
Clinton got around 65%. Still huge, but not close to 100.
You may be correct, Mike but they will lose my vote and the vote of tens of thousands if not millions to whom those things are important.
Already happening because Romney wasn't "enough". Welcome to the USSA
-
The obvious answer it seems is that that the Republican party needs to look even more like the Democrats
Depends on how you look at it. If they quit trying to ban the stuff they don't like, they would actually be less like democrats.

Passed in Alabamer too... http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2012/11/alabama-voters-nullify-obamacare-mandates/
Haslam won't do anything of the sort, 6.8.
Probably not. Not his call anyway. It would have to be the legislature.
Racism? Yes. It did play a part. (Racism is prefering your race over other races. African Americans, Hispanics, Whites, Asians, etc. all exhibit racist views, but this is a separate topic.) Several did vote for Obama, due to his skin color. Racism also worked the other way, as seen by acts of people voting for Mitt, with slogans like "Put the "white" back into the White House," and other, less civilized, slogans tossed about. In addition, Trump, and other GOP talking heads, and even Mitt, catered to the Birthers, a percieved racist group proclaiming Obama was born in Kenya, even though the evidence shows otherwise (and since he was born 2 years before Kenya existed... um. Yeah.) This perception negatively impacted the GOP, too, as having these slogans on the back of t-shirts, on signs, banners, etc., at several GOP politcal rallies, pushed the perception the GOP was for "whites only." @Currently: I missed the speech. Do you have a link? I would like to hear what he said.
And BTW, I'm not sure that I blame them. Just calling it for what it is. Fact is, the Republicans probably would have won if they hadn't alienated women. Fiscal conservatism isn't going anywhere. Legislating "morality" will fade away when they lose enough elections.
"Poke" not "polk". Pokeweed. You pick a "mess" of it. Yes, berries and roots are toxic, but leaves can be eaten even after berries form, but small leaves in spring are best. I ate a ton of it growing up, and matter of fact picked a small mess along the 3rd Creek greenway about three years ago and ate it for old time's sake. And yep, boil for a bit, drain, change water boil some more, adding pork fat is traditional. Not bad, damn good if you're really hungry. If it were harmful to eat it this way, half the South would have died in the 30s. - OS
Yep. Not bad with some pork thrown in.

The African American vote went to Obama because of one main reason. You don't get into the high 90's with a group because you're making them all happy.

UN ARMS TREATY AGAIN ALREADY?!?!?!
Diane Finestien does that all the time. Her constituents expect her to act this way. It never gets anywhere.
I don't understand why her people are meeting with the ATF. We better watch this one a little closer. If they try to do this without Congress, sh#t could get real. -
The way the GOP is talking, they're adopting a strategy to get immigration reform to get the hispanic vote. Blaming it on old white guys is a poor excuse for getting a good candidate in the field. I think it has just been reduced to third party status, anyway. I heard someone else blame it on the candidates who ran and lost. If that was the case, they are over because the bulk of the candidates were moderate who lost, with the exception of Akin and Mourdock. They just got caught saying stupid things and it cost them. It's the same factor with them as Ron Paul. Get your message tuned up and make sure you stay on message. I don't think they will and I can't see them getting it, either.
Don't forget that 3 million registered Republicans stayed home on election day, probably because Romney wasn't "insert whiney BS here" enough. We have a commie president because a lot of Republicans CHOSE him with their inaction. Probably wasn't all of it. The two drunk uncles helped a lot too.

Alabama had something similar on the ballot. Haven't checked back with my buds to see if it passed. I know the great state of Alabamer hates Obama more than anybody
There is a guy on Glocktalk that made a flush fit magazine for his G36. I had been planning on doing one if I ever bought my own G36 instead of borrowing my friends for long periods of time.
Maybe I'm a sissy, but I think the G36 is a handful with the grip as it is. I wouldn't want to drop one finger from the grip. I changed the bases on my mags because the factory base bite's your pinky when you shoot it.
Steelharp, I'm with you but the stupid magazine vase on a G36 turns me off.
I'll agree with you there. The G36 needs to be fixed. Here's mine...
