1.
Bacon or a dozen other things may have played a part but I am pretty sure bacon alone didn't do the guy in. Regardless of contributing medical factors, I don't think (and most state laws agree) that a thief should die simply because someone is protecting property.
No, but he may have needed a punch in the face. We're doin' that TGO thing again. Not enough info.
 2.
But... but... I just had bacon... SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!!!
What a way to go. Just don't go stealing any DVD players. Probably don't need to get that worked up
 3.
Yeah...he only killed the thief by choking him to death - does changing the word "executed" to "murdered" or "killed" make the man less dead or the act more reasonable? Seems like a difference without a distinction to me. We hold responders to a higher responsibility because they are supposed to know the law and the consequences of their actions (whether they do or not) plus the law places a high fiduciary responsibility for the safety of anyone they have restrained/incarcerated. This rent-a-cop killed a man to protect "stuff"; stuff that wasn't even his stuff and did so contrary to the policies of his employer...he will almost certainly be charged with manslaughter and rightfully so, just as any private citizen would be as well; no one deserves that much latitude.
We may wanna slow down a little until the medical examiner's report comes out. That's what law enforcement is doing. The guy was middle aged. Bacon could have killed him.
 4.
No we won't.
Did you run out of tin foil again? You gotta work on those prepper skills
 5.
You don't walk, they provide a golf cart.
I, WON'T walk. 100 yards is it for me. I figured they either provided something, or you use your own vehicle. Same deal as stones river with the 200 yard targets. Golf cart.
 6.
I stand corrected. I was unaware such a rail existed.
I think the Omega is actually their most popular rail.
 7.
O.K., who is David and how do I get ahold of him?
http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/user/5346-dlm37015/
 8.
I guess I'm speaking specifically about the 400 yard range. You are correct, the 100 yard sucks. However, the 400 yard benches are great and so is the concrete if you want to shoot prone. Not sure what you mean about rain at MGSC?
I haven't shot the 400 yet. Stones river is all concrete and gravel. No mud. Probably not a big deal with the 400, since I won't be walking to a 400 yard target.
 9.
Well technically if it attaches to the FSB it's not a free float. Yes you can add a two piece rail and thy would be much simpler, but it wouldn't be a free float.
The Daniel Defense Omega rail is free float, and installs to a standard Delta ring without any mods to the gun. I have one. They're expensive, but work real well, and weigh about the same as a stock handguard.
 10.
Would have to disagree there. Montgomery shooting complex is a hands down better facility than Stone's River.
I love Southside, but... Fixed target stands. You have to change lanes if you wanna shoot at a different range. If it rains, you're screwed. Stones River has concrete walkways, and the rest is gravel. MUCH better shooting benches at Stones River. Sound absorbing material at Stones River. Doesn't ring your ears as much. With all that said, I would rather shoot at Southside if it wasn't a gazillion miles away. I like being able to pull my truck up to the firing line. I can make it to Gallatin Gun Club in less time.
 11.
I guess I'm also unsure of the purpose for the thread in the first place????
Yeah. Doesn't look like it has the potential to overtake the mother of all Stones River bitch threads ... the one where Tim showed up and explained why all the rules are there in the first place. They put more lead in the berms than any other range in the state with an all volunteer staff, and nobody gets shot (usually).
 12.
If you have to go to a range, it is better to be at a safe place like this than be shot and killed by a newbie or an experienced idiot like in Cheatham County
It would be bad politics to have a shooting there. It's a Hunter Education Center as well. The strict rules there can be a pain in the butt. I DO understand why they have them. It's not the only place I shoot. It's the only one that's a five minute drive.
 13. Removing gun rights for a non-violent offense (especially) is just another gun control law. I don't like gun control laws.
 14.
On the other hand; If this range were a private business, it would be out of business in a matter of weeks. The "Customer" experience was pretty awful.
A few more facts... All the RSO's are volunteers, and get no compensation for the hours they work All the RSO's are shooters. Stone's River is the busiest range in the state, and gets lots of newbies, doing lots of stupid stuff. It is the best facility I've been to in the state I'm on my third annual membership there. If it was a private business, they could pay a staff, and maybe even open the 50 yard range. I almost always go on Fridays, and have had quite a bit of time to talk to some of the RSO's. That place gets insane on Saturdays and Sundays because of the large volume of shooters. With all that insanity, they manage to keep the place pretty safe.
 15.
I'm amazed this hasn't happened at Norris. I've been muzzled there a few times during crowded weekends.
You would be hard to hit. Like shooting a noodle at 50 yards
 16.
TWRA range on Hobson Pike seems relatively safe.
Real safe
 17.
That sucks. It's why I don't visit public ranges anymore.
Depends on the range. Cheatham has lots of booger diggers and no RSO's.
 18.
Based on the fact that I would be taking her somewhere that serves alcohol (which I would be drinking) and based on your selection for a user pic, I would say carrying a firearm would not be an option.
It's not important that you drink. It's REAL important that she does
 19.
the auto disk powder thingy for the lee turret press really adds a lot of speed. Its not super precise but its still as good or better than bought ammo and beats the heck out of dipping each one.
Yep. I use that and the on board primer thing. I have a couple of the pro version. I have the cheesey one too, but don't use it.
 20.
I'm a big fan of Bullseye powder for target handgun loads. I loaded 20 rounds of 7x57, 20 rounds of 223, 400 rounds of 45 ACP, and 150 rounds of 38 Special last night and this morning on a single stage press. It didn't take very long at all.
I use it for .45. That's the only pistol caliber I reload.
 21. I like that! How is the trigger?
 22. Them's fightin' words
 23.
Milspec will work with every stock out there so that is a big reason to go milspec. Strength is not a consideration, nor is the threads, for me. Dolomite
I started using Milspec when I changed from a fixed stock on my .458 SOCOM. That caliber has a reputation for breaking collapsible stocks. The small difference in thread quality may or may not be a factor in that case. That's certainly not a common AR application. It will bruise your shoulder.
 24. I love the Lee Classic Turret, especially for pistol. I doubt that I'll ever upgrade to a progressive, unless I start shooting a lot more. I still do quite a bit on a single stage, like sizing rifle cartridges, and loading more precision stuff.
