  I agree too. Unfortunately, any concessions will be made by our politicians based on what they think will actually pass. In case you haven't noticed, they ain't real good at their jobs :)

  EVERBODY needs to put their broad brush away. I don't know ANY liberal that joined that crowd over gun issues. Most of the ones I know are from professional relationships that were developed over years. They KNOW I'm not the picture that's painted in the media. Sure, they are liberals and get their information from liberal sources. Doesn't mean they won't have an open minded discussion with me. Some of them have brains.   I make progress most days. I'm just not as loud as the idiots on CNN

Welcome SteyrAUG. Very well done! I wish the real facts were getting more than 10% of the air time compared to made up "facts" and emotional button pushing. Our enemies aren't playing fair.   Your post will help me adjust my talking points. In a lot of cases, I wind up trying to use them with folks that have severely impaired hearing.

Well written, and yes, "I knew that". We have had these sane arguments all along, delivered with varying levels of skill. It does little good with our grabber friends.   The media is doing their best to bury us this time. If we don't come up with better ways to fight it, we will lose by numbers.

  I just hide them. I have quite a few that are on the other side, but can have respectful discussions. I won't deal with the mentally impaired ones (those that shall not be mentioned) on a regular basis, but am more than happy to smack them around if they sneak into a discussion.   The debate needs to happen at ground level. I do as much as I can tolerate.

  Can't go too over the top with the site filters. If I whip up a satisfying name for some of these folks, you'll have to look at your email to figure out what I said. :)   I understand David's point, and I think I agree. When you get toe to toe with our commie friends, they call more names than we do. I'll be respectful as long as they are. As soon as they start reading from their Huffpo cheat sheet, I'll bitch slap them. We can't lose sight of the fact that this is all VERY unfair, and they really ARE the enemy.

  The math all works except for the wind. I have a couple of buddies that shoot clays at 1000 yards. That's not hearsay either. I've watched them do it. There's just no way to do it on the first shot. Enter the Horus reticle.

Yep. Gas guns are softer. The recoil pad issue just came to light with my .458 SOCOM. I put the Magpul extended "recoil pad" on that one, and it still stamps a Magpul logo into your shoulder. I made it tolerable with a brake. Now, the recoil is pretty manageable, but it blows your friends' hats off :). My bolt guns have good pads.

  AR's are quick. Just ask Piers Morgan. 3000 rounds per minute. You can be outa there in 12 seconds :)
