  1. Wicker (MS) Statement...     Today, I voted to allow debate on gun legislation. I have an A+ rating from the NRA and have consistently worked to protect Second Amendment rights. My vote is in accord with the NRA’s position. I have never voted for gun control and will not do so. This begins a debate to put the Senate on record about a basic constitutional freedom. Bringing this bill to the floor gives us the opportunity to vote on measures to strengthen gun rights, such as an amendment to protect veterans from unfair restrictions when trying to purchase a firearm. I will filibuster passage of a final bill if it contains gun restrictions or a weapons ban.
  2. Coburn (OK) statement, FWIW...   (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) released the following statement today regarding his vote to begin debate on S. 649:   “Today’s vote was an opportunity for senators to do what they were elected to do and begin debate on a critical issue in our country. Today’s vote was simply a vote to begin debate and not an endorsement of the current bill. I will not support ending debate and moving to final passage of any bill that compromises the Second Amendment rights or the privacy of law abiding citizens. “I look forward to offering multiple amendments in the coming days, including an amendment to replace the unworkable Manchin-Toomey with a proposal that will protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights while giving law abiding citizens the tool they need to make sure they aren’t transferring a firearm to someone who will be a threat to themselves or others. I also intend to offer or support amendments to protect the Second Amendment rights of veterans and Americans who have concealed carry permits, among other issues. Today’s vote enables me to offer those amendments, and help give the American people the debate they deserve.”   ###
  3. Doesn't matter what's required. They set out to prove a point. Unfortunately, they made the point they were trying to make. Me... I wish the sellers would have asked for some ID.
  4.   Sure. You doubt most everything :) I can hear the conversation... "if we don't tone it way down, it won't even make it to the floor".
  5.   They actually toned it way down. Schumer is a friggin' Nazi. Their amendment gets rid of all the Nazi crap, and actually just deals with gun shows and arms list/TGO classified type sales. Leaves sales between family and friends alone. The real commies like Gov Cummo hate it.
  6. I don't know if I can find it again. I've hit a gazillion sites. It really doesn't look that bad. The NRA has already come out against it.
  7. I finally saw the text. It's gonna be impossible to police effectively. Of course, they're really just trying to draw blood any way they can. Pretty unobtrusive, but still doesn't need to pass.
  8.   Yep. If he puts a gun to his head, they'll dump a few 30's into him. Suicide is illegal, ya know?
  9.   I thought that was the case. I leave them on anyway just to keep the dust out. The caps do relieve tension on the feed lips.
  10.   No longer than 2 years WITHOUT the caps. With the caps... forever.
  11. Here's the real scary part... Liberal brains are diseased to the point that they will gag your basic zed. They're coming after US! That's why I have lots of ammo :)
  12. Isn't it interesting that the biggest dip in Corp profits falls on the GDP growth line. 3 seconds of reality.
  13.   If it's a Lee Die, just pull the expander and break off the decapping pin. Then, order another one. They dirt cheap. I size a lot of primed Lake city brass, and have spare expanders for .223 and 300 Blackout.
  14.   Now you're describing Mike.357's jammies. Them's fightin' words
  15.   Can't shoot a Muzzie with a .458 SOCOM. Shit goes everywhere when you do. :)
  16.   Throw some bacon bits in with your tire weights when you're cooking up boolits :)
  17. This sounds like a software package to link existing databases... databases that are maintained by federal workers. No matter what the intent, the product is gonna suck like everything else they do.
  18.   We probably should just wish them well :)  I doubt that they're ready to befriend us.
  19. I've never flown in an aircraft at less than 3000 ft. unless we were landing or taking off. Most guns don't do airplanes well.
  20.   I thought the ACLU letter was well written. I think their emphasis on solutions was a little wrong, but am OK with what they submitted.
  21.   Apparently
  22.   School is in session. Commencement in 2014.
  23.   Nope. The end is way too sharp.
  24.   ...and a little gift to us! She racked up more points than "Shotgun Joe" :)
