As far as I'm concerned, ALL 1911's are fun at the range. My girlfriend handles steel framed 1911's without a problem. She's never shot one with a lighter frame, which is going to have more recoil. When it comes to girls, you never know how they're gonna like it until they shoot it.

Since the end result of the exercise will be to remove somebody's constitutional rights, it HAS to go through the courts. I don't think there's any way to shortcut it.

  There's a lot of factory ammo available if you're not in the middle of an ammo shortage. It's more expensive than 223. Bigger bullets = bigger price. Same deal with reloading.

The gun control issues have changed. I'm not so sure Ronnie would back an AWB today. It didn't work. We're in a good place with guns these days, even with that sorry asshole that's supposed to be running the country.

  Blackout is a joy to reload, and you can make the brass from .223 brass. Most of my blackout brass came from Lake City 5.56 cases that had dinged up necks from when they pulled the bullets. Since they're .223 cases, stock mags and bolts work. It's just a great caliber for the AR.

  Don't forget that an AR has a straight mag well that can cause problems with the 7.62 x 39. 300 blk is a great caliber, and has the same basic ballistics. If you reload, I can't see a difference in ammo cost either.
