  1.   Yep. When it comes down to it. You ought to be able to find it too, since there is at least a zillion choices :)
  2. I have no problem with that rule. Nothing worse than an ND in a gun store, especially if somebody gets shot. I asked the "why" question at Specialty Arms years ago. That rule was made out of necessity... idiots trying out holsters with loaded guns, and an ND or two. If you own a gun store, you may not be able to afford your new insurance premiums when somebody gets shot. If idiots were rare, it would be one thing. Unfortunately, they're common as mud.
  3.   Yep. I just replaced the temperature door actuators in my Trailblazer. The factory procedure was to pull the dash, console, steering column, and the metal structure that supports the dash. Fortunately, some DIY guys on the Trailblazer forum came up with a surgical procedure to "go in thru the anus". Took me about 3 hours because I kept running out of cuss words, but still took probably 5 hours off the procedure. It also required some minor cutting. Half blind and tedious work.   Thank God for the Internet.
  4.   Yep. I just went thru a knife hunt/purchase. I've never been a knife guy, but figured I might as well. I wound up buying a Benchmade, but didn't see any badmouthing of any of those three brands. I just picked the features I liked. Here's the one I ordered. It WILL break...   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=verXb0gZoM8
  5. Or, if you could get an abrasive compound to adhere to the bullet, just do that. Think Tubb's Final Finish.
  6.   ... and they were praying for the criminal.
  7.   Yep. I have more concern about the blade steel than anything else. It won't see much, if any, hard use.
  8.   I'm guessing it would have been cheaper from Dolomite's House of Molds :)
  9. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/934234/lee-pacesetter-2-die-set-300-aac-blackout?cm_vc=subv1935590   Lee too
  10. I wish I had seen this a little earlier. I just ordered this one. http://www.benchmade.com/products/300 I'm not a big knife guy. So, I'm sure it will make me happy. I really like the looks.
  11. I've done lots of repairs over the last couple of years to avoid taking it in the shorts by Mr. Goodwrench. Just saved $600-$700 on an HVAC repair. It was like jabbing myself in the face with an ice pick, but at least I didn't get screwed.
  12. I have a few seater/bullet combinations that will put a ring on the bullet. That's going to happen depending on how the angles match up, insertion force, and the hardness of the bullet surface. I've never had a situation where I believed it was causing an accuracy problem. As of right now, the softest thing I deal with is a copper jacket. If I was doing a lot of casting, like Dolomite and a few others, I would probably spend more time on it. I can see Delrin working out real well. It's a lot more elastic than steel. Good for the bullet surface, and maybe not so good if you have varying neck tensions. I'm a big stickler for consistent seating depth because it impacts pressure in a big way. That's another reason why you need to set seating depth with the ogive, not the tip. I don't load anything on the fluffy side. They're almost always close to max.   One thing I learned early on with reloading... you can slam pretty good ammo together on a progressive or turret, or turn it into a 47 step process like the competition shooters do. Lots of middle ground between those two extremes too.
  13.   I agree that one size doesn't always fit all with seating stems. I have two stems for my Redding Competition seater (one is deep for VLD bullets). You still don't ever need a flat stem. With a flat stem, bullet runout is completely controlled by the neck. Even if the tip of the bullet survives, you're doing it wrong.
  14. You don't ever want to use the flat side to seat a bullet. That's not a "feature". It's either right, or backwards.
  15.   Yep. Made me chuckle

  18. I don't have any 1:7 barrels. I have three 1:9, and a 1:8. I shoot 82gr Bergers in my 1:8.
  19.   Bear in mind that rotational rate is what will cause a jacket to turn loose. Twist rate and velocity effect rotational rate. A .22 LR is spinning at roughly 1/3 the rate for any given twist.
  20. I've heard of LCP's dropping mags because of folks accidentally squeezing the mag release. It's never happened to me. I don't know how the finger extension could cause it.
  21. He needs to feed those pigs a bucket of laxative and cut a hole in the fence
  22. I use the same chop saw as Dolomite. I trim with an RCBS power trimmer with a 3 way cutting head. It's an expensive setup, but works real well.
