Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
mikegideon replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It's a huge racial issue. It just wasn't between Z&T (from what I know). All the misinformation in the press is 100% about race. If both guys had been the same race, and it doesn't matter which one, it may have received a couple lines in the local paper. -
Not to worry, Leroy. The regulators are gonna keep my knives from getting much bigger :). Gotta protect the children, and all. I figure if you're gonna slice something, you might as well do it all at once :)
-
I've watched most of the videos on the Edge Pro site. It's THE one to get. It's like a lot of things. If it's flexible enough to do the best job, it's flexible enough to do a lot of damage :). I doubt that I get into custom knives. I never got into custom 1911's either. My next rifle is gonna eat plenty of money. I expect to wind up with an off-the-rack Sebenza and an XM-18 at least.
-
From what I've seen, you don't just get a Hinderer. You gotta hunt for one. A 3 1/2" XM-18 is on the list. I may need to give my bug a little rest :)
-
BTW... Look at the CRKT Ripple. Another Ken Onion design. They sell it at Walmart for $30-$40. I'm gonna get one. Thin profile, ball bearing pivot with flipper, razor sharp. Real fast deployment. Real light too. Gets great reviews from the knive guys, including NutNPansy
-
Not sure yet. I'm just playing right now. The 300 looks like it would stand any heavy use you wanna throw at it. Gonna be a lot easier on your hand too. And... don't forget that Starbuck's feature :)
-
They call it FDE. The 561 is bigger than the 350. About the same girth folded, but maybe 3/4" longer. It's a little lighter than the 350.
-
I'm betting you would love the 300. Like Mav said, it's a beast. Here's the 300 and the 350. The 300 is about twice the money. It's a titanium frame lock like the 561.
-
Thanks. Now, jacking my own thread for a second... sharpening recurve blades with the Edge pro is as simple as using 1/2" stones on the finish passes. They sell them, as well as 1/2" tape blanks. That sold me on the system. The 300 probably isn't my last Ken Onion design, so I might as well tool up.
-
I love the 300. I like it a lot better than the 350. I haven't tried to carry it around yet. I think your review of the 561 was spot on too. I'm tickled with both purchases.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
mikegideon replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Racism has been a big part of this case. The libtards that were wearing hoodies in support of Trayvon when they had NO evidence that he deserved that support are just as racist as the ones that automatically blame Trayvon because he was black. I jumped into this because they had Z convicted in the media with no real evidence. If Z is proven guilty, I'll go to the hangin' party. I WON'T be wearing a hoodie, though. -

Again, we don't know. Trayvon could have been acting just like a thug. I have lots of black folks in my neighborhood. A few of them are thuggy. They ain't any blacker than the rest. -
It's a start. The girlfriend is starting to give me the hairy eyeball, though :). I think I've pretty much milked the ZT line for all it was worth. I really like the assisted knives.

What Terry Stop? You're speculating again. :) -

How did he not fit the profile??? Guns, drugs, burglary tools, gangsta mentality. I think he fit it pretty well. We don't know what happened that night, but we DO know that Trayvon was a thug in training. -
Just got these. My favorites so far. Fit, finish, and function is perfect on both knives. One thing I'll say about the 300... If you enjoy seeing that expanding wet spot on the front of some liberal's Dockers, just whip that sucker out in the Starbucks and lop off the top of your sugar pack. :). Evil black knife.

How ya gonna build your TGO billet lower?
mikegideon replied to Caster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
It may be awhile before I build these. I have already outgrown my safe. There will be some bloody domestic violence in my house if I try to upgrade it, too. It will turn the redhead liberal pacifist into a pure redhead :). -
Marco Rubio On Hannity Last Night discussing Immigration
mikegideon replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I haven't gone real deep on this, but have heard Rubio's position from his own mouth. I haven't seen the Hannity video yet. Rubio's position is (or was)... 1. Secure the borders before anything else happens. 2. Penalize the illegals before they are allowed to participate in the path to citizenship. What we have now doesn't work. Whatever they decide to change will have to pass both houses of Congress WITH full funding. Amnesty has two popular definitions. The first is anything short of rounding them up and deporting them. The second is granting them citizenship without penalty. Rubio's plan fits the first definition, but not the second. I don't know where I stand, but do speculate that a LOT of citizens rights are gonna get violated if they try to round up and deport all these folks. The Obama presidency has done more to curb illegal immigration than anything else. It sucks here right now. -

The best intel is that the guys driving this are exactly the ones I would let pick out a complete rifle for me. I haven't seen much of MacGyver lately. He may be in a work frenzy right now. -
Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
mikegideon replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is the deal. Until Trayvon's marketing campaign came into full swing, you had Zimmerman with a bloody head, and Trayvon with a hole in his chest. If they use speculation instead of hard evidence to convict, then we all lose. We have fight games, and a winner is declared based on how many blows hit home. Trayvon was winning the fight. If there's no evidence on how it got physical, they gotta let Z walk. Since this whole thing has been a media circus, I'm fine with them releasing the information. It's a lot closer to fact than the angelic image that was pushed by every media outlet in the US. -

Tenn COA -"Intent to go armed" statute is constitutional
mikegideon replied to LawVol's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think he's capable of making nice. Yeager's case was a whole different deal. He didn't physically go out and scare the bejeesus out of a bunch of sheeple. He just shot his mouth off. -
Sent another email to Corker and Alexander
mikegideon replied to Volzfan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I doubt that they have a straightforward answer for it either :) -
Just give me my iphone and a horus reticle in an FFP scope. I can pull the trigger without jerking the rifle.
