I'm with you, if the choice is limited to those two. There was a time when the Sport was a real good deal because of the kickass barrel they were using at the time. It was probably a good enough deal to justify the slab side upper receiver for some. If S&W downgraded the barrel, then it's a different deal.

  The military bought eleventy gazillion rifles WITH a dust cover and forward assist. I'll agree it's not necessary. Still, even among TGO folks, those without are a dinky minority.

The Sport is a great rifle. With that said, and I had the money, I might buy the Colt. You can't go wrong with either. I just like a forward assist and dust cover. It looks like the carry handle can be removed so you can turn it into a flat top if you want to add an optic later.

Can't believe I titled the thread wrong. It's an 0550 Well... I just had to. Nothing really new to report. Same flawless ZT quality. I really like this knife. It's a little smaller, and a little beefier than the 0561. I think the scale is butt ugly, like everybody else. Hinderer makes replacement scales, but there are none to be found right now. They changed the clip on the Gen 2, which also changed the hole pattern in the scale. Who knows if/when they will make any more. I did order a Kryptoglow scale, but don't like it near as well as the Hinderer design. It's a lot more pimpy. I'll probably use it when it shows up.

Surely the Zimmerman described by the State as a “wannabe cop” seeking to “take the law into his own hands” and “profile” and “chase” unfamiliar black boys would fairly leap at such an opportunity. It was as close to being a police officer as Zimmerman was ever likely to get, the chance of a life time. Zimmerman declined the opportunity.
