My little brother just bought a cheap Savage sporter in 6.5 CM. Shot a 3" group at 350 yards (sub MOA) today with factory ammo. He bought it for hunting because his Ruger precision in 6.5 CM is too heavy for hunting. The Ruger is a half MOA gun. -

They have always kinda had it. I'm from there, and getting ready to go back. Open carry without a permit has been legal at least going back to my high school days. So, most of the killin' should have happened over the years.

So, the way I read this, open carry would be aggravated assault if it wasn't legal. It really is threatening to a lot of folks. We always come to the same conclusion around here. Hide your damn gun.

Retaining your weapon isn't assault, no matter how cop, judge, and jury wanna interpret it. But, that's the problem with open carry. The minute the girl screamed threat, he was probably screwed.

It wasn't Ag. Assualt, but could be argued, especially if they embellished some. And NOBODY can embellish like a pissed off woman. AFIK, it's not aggravated assault until you unholster and point it. But it's plenty easy to tell that story if they know the gun is there.

Sure would have been easier if your gun wasn't in plain sight. Domestic situations can reach the height of stupidity. And, the person in the wrong isn't always the one that gets in trouble.
