  1.   And when you get a little bigger, you can have an adult light like me  :x:
  2.   You could duct tape it to one of those beer helmets. Those are cool. :)
  3.   Hold that sucker in your teeth like John Wayne :)
  4.   Streamlights are a good option. At least, that's what I've heard. The X-300 is a VERY well designed weapon light. I trust it as much as my Glock. The question in my mind, will the TLR-3 fail when a Surefire won't?
  5.   We're talking about life saving equipment here, right? Or, are we just trying to ninja up a gun?
  6.   We don't need them scattering to other states. We need some Commiegeddon. :)
  7. That has lots of potential. Manageable length without having to SBR the gun
  8. Let's face it. Talks about the various amnesty ideas would go nowhere if it wasn't for kids with illegal parents, who really aren't at fault for their illegal status. That's why I'm not as hard on Rubio as a lot of folks. If you can't get past the politics, nothing gets done. I think they should deport all the Democrats, but it probably won't make it through Congress.
  9. I love that thing. Isn't that the Magpul proto?
  10. You're MacGyver. You're supposed to know this stuff :)
  11.   Are you sayin' there was a spin on the story, due to chronic libtardation on the part of the writer? I'm just wondering if it's any scarier fighting Afghan goat humpers with our great military gear, or fighting the drug cartels with a pocketful of rocks.
  12. The X300 is perfect. What other lights stand up to it?
  13. A Sebenza is as boutique as I get. I have some ZT's and Spydercos that don't deserve any abuse :). The pile is worth enough to use good tools. Of course, the tools don't make up for what you gotta know. From what I've been able to learn about the whole thing, I could do just fine with a Lansky. Just may wind up having to grind a little more off the knife the first time. I'm sure we have guys on here that can do just as well freehand.   I have one Kershaw that I sharpened with the Worksharp belt sander. It's not pretty, but it will castrate a gnat
  14. I'm a big Lehigh fan. I have some of their 300 grain .458 bullets. You can put one through a cinder block wall and it just scratches it up. You can probably load it and shoot it again.
  15. I never keep a light on my guns. The 300 pretty much stays in the safe in case it's ever needed. I have a hand held that's pretty much as bright as the Surefire, only cheaper.
  16.   I understand. My Sebenza 25 is going back, but can be replaced if it gets lost. I have $250 in the one I carry most. But, if there's any risk, I grab one of the cheapies.
  17.   You should call Surefire and bring that to their attention :). Does the same on a glock.   BTW: Here's a good option if you can't pop for a Surefire...   http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=80
  18.   Let me do a quick thread jack. I used to think CR knives were stupid expensive too, until I got it. You can use those knives hard. Before and after, cost was $1.50 + Shipping.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_725408&feature=iv&src_vid=39BhwRYrMJs&v=1ZC2jDugvqs#t=20s   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39BhwRYrMJs
  19.   You don't make facets with the sharpie method. You don't sacrifice any steel at all if you do it right. If I didn't have a bunch of fairly expensive knives, I would get one of the guided systems like the Lansky, or the one mentioned above, and just flog the primary bevel into submission. That's what you wind up doing with the high end sharpeners in a lot of cases anyway, especially when the edge is off center. If you have different angles on each side, you're probably best off fixing it.    There's another small issue with fixed guide angles. As the stones wear, they wear at different rates. The difference in thickness will add to the angle error. In fact, the change in thickness over time will change the angle. Of course, you can replace the stones and eliminate the error.
  20.   750 grain AMAX bullets, $2.25 ea. 750 grain Barnes TAC-LR, $1.75. I'm guessing one could do a little better. Big projectiles and lots of powder is gonna make it expensive. Still, the caliber just screams for reloads.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/109635/hornady-a-max-bullets-50-bmg-510-diameter-750-grain-boat-tail-box-of-20
  21.   Pretty hard to line up your sights on anything when you're blinded. Fortunately, we don't have to invent it here. CQB tactics are well established, and have been tested way more than we will ever be able to do.
