Again, stock photo until it shows up on Tuesday. This one is interesting. Current issue for the Marines. It shares a lot of the characteristics of the famous KaBar USMC, but with an 8" blade. The top side of the blade can be sharpened, just like the Ka-Bar. Not sure I'll do it yet.

From the AAC website...   HANDLOADING INFORMATION   If you load your own ammo, pay special attention to all of the normal safety practices. Recommended powder for most supersonic loads is Hodgdon H110.   For subsonic, there are special requirements and nearly all published loads are non-optimal for the 300 BLK upper. Many existing loads were developed for Thompson Center® single-shot pistols, or for ARs by people not aware of the magazine limitations. These loads pay no attention to automatic rifle function and should not be used. Look for a load which results in a cyclic rate of 700 rpm or more. A1680 is recommended because its bulk density matches the case capacity and it will generate enough gas pressure to cycle the weapon. Suggested subsonic load:   • R-P 300 AAC BLACKOUT brass  • Remington 7.5 primers  • 11.2 grains of A1680 powder (Adjust powder charge down as needed. Factory ammo is 1010 fps for 16" barrel)  • Case length is 1.368 +0.000 -0.020 • Sierra 220 MK loaded to 2.120 OAL (this length is optimal for reliable feeding from USGI magazines) • Chamber pressure 21,100 psi.

Regarding matched uppers... none of my upper receivers have anything engraved on them. Seems like an off the rack CMT billet upper would match up just fine. That's what I'll wind up doing.   TMF... I'm buying you one of those $4 tools so you don't launch any more springs :) I just use a box cutter

FYI, from thebangswitch.com ...   UPDATE: I’ve spoken with David Goldman, who is a respected NFA lawyer, and he makes a number of good points regarding this information being passed by The Hill blog. This change has been bantered about for years and the only time we know it was formally proposed was in 2012. The proposed regulation change expired in 2012 and never took effect. The link provided by The Hill blog is to the 2012 proposed regulation change, which makes their report suspect. Also, the ATF has recently made changes and has started accepting digital applications for transfers between dealers and Trusts. If this proposed regulation change were to take effect, it would hamper the new system they’ve recently rolled out. The ATF has been unavailable for comment.

A little more progress on the handle. Got the receivers built. Barrel shows up tomorrow, but I gotta send it back out to get the front sight base installed. These knives can be a pain in the butt...
