  Long story. DPMS stripped receiver, with DPMS upper parts kit and rear sight kit. BCM stripped Gov profile barrel, with DPMS barrel parts, Shipped to Adco in Toledo to have the front sight block pinned to the barrel (requires jig, taper reamer, and vertical mill). Assembled the upper with my tools in my gun room.   EDIT: Can't be bayonetting zombies with a clamp-on FSB.   The lawsuits from the Sheriffs are next. Both of those recalled dems were replaced with republicans. I wouldn't be surprised if more of that didn't happen in the next election.

  The military has done a good job of preserving upgrade paths on their rifles. It's why rifle length uppers, including the A4 still use the triangular handguard cap. AFIK, you can stick an A2/A4 barrel assembly on an A1, and keep it running with current ammo. I don't know how the military actually does it, but I do understand the compatibility across generations.

I viewed this build as retro, even though there is a bunch still out there. I like the gun. Simple and light (for what it is).    The differences between an A2 and A4 are pretty small. Swap out the upper receiver and handguard, and you're there. I'm guessing a lot of the A4's began life as A2's

  I tried to keep this one all milspec. I may do an A4 next.
