  1.   Shell deflectors seem to work just fine. I'm still glad I was born with my affliction :)
  2.   You beat me to it. No reason for a castle nut if you're not using a carbine stock. It's only there so you can line the stock up with the rifle. I have a couple of the Noveske QD plates. Best I can tell, they're the same thickness as a stock end plate.
  3. And I have three... none had to be trimmed. Depends on the selector somewhat.
  4.   I've had a bunch of aluminum cut with a CNC laser cutter in the past. It leaves a small burr. Don't know about an engraver for sure, but I'm betting it does too.
  5. I'll be on a trigger hunt for the Grendel when it gets time. Something in the 1lb range.
  6. They may be getting better. I just won't deal with somebody that takes 2-3 weeks to ship an "In stock" item, at least not if it's going to hold up a build. It has nothing to do with the quality of their stuff. The quality is good. I did finally get my lower from them. Sold it to a friend in the Kroger parking lot.
  7. What I'm sayin'
  8.   Right. Rifle tubes don't use a castle nut either.
  9.   You know the story. If one of my vendors says something is in stock, I order it, and they put it in a box and send it. Palmetto bug doesn't do that, so they ain't one of my vendors. Their stuff is OK, but they're shitty business people. I would rather pay a little more more to Joebob, BCM, Primary Arms, etc. It's not worth the 40 bucks to put up with them. Like I said, that's just me. You can get a crack whore to do amazing things for 60 bucks, if she was only capable of amazing things :)
  10.   Palmetto Bug Armory is on my permanent shit list. That's just me.
  11.   It don't bother 6.8. He has a hard head :)
  12.   It's a legitimate problem with that grip. But... it's a really great grip :) I normally use DPMS parts kits, and haven't had a problem with them. I have seen it though.
  13.   What kind of selector? I doubt that it's the receiver. Trim the grip a little
  14.   I've had it happen. Fact is though, the Hogue is probably the best AR grip in the whole world. If the selector just won't work, you gotta get a new selector or trim the grip. I would have to look at my guns to find the worst one. I've never had to trim one of my grips though. Use the gun and it will trim itself
  15.   Nope. Can't improve on that design, and can't build a one off any cheaper. I'll send Giraud my money. He's a good engineer.
  16. It happens sometimes. I have several of the Hogue grips. Never had to trim the grip. If it's rubbing that hard, it will trim itself over time :)
  17.   I'm left handed too, but God gave me a gift. If I try to close my right eye by itself, I flip upside down. So, I've always shot right handed. Now, my buddy 6.8 is a true lefty. You can tell by that dent is his forehead :).   I don't sell anything. I just gotta figure out what to build. I want an A4 rifle (USMC style), so I may swap some stuff around and slide the second set of receivers onto my second 5.56 carbine. Then, build the A4 with the receivers that are freed up from that. I'll figger it out :).
  18.   Well... there ya go. I wonder if I can make one of those in the garage. I hear they're expensive.
  19.   I hope you got some of these whether you need them or not. Nice stuff, especially for the money.
  20. OK... I just ordered another receiver set. I figure 8 AR's isn't too many, right? I have NO idea what I'll do with these, since I already need to sell a kidney to build the Grendel. They tell me I can't sell both. Is that true?
  21.   Are you a lefty?
  22.   Yea, mine too. The answer today is to just get an upper from the 458 guys, either SBR or RRA (or Red Jacket  ).
  23.   You're gonna need a gold tooth and some of those saggy pants too :)
  24.   That's your demons, not theirs :)
  25.   A trip to Guns and Leather is never the wrong thing to do :)
