Are you using PMAGS?

  You're aware that Colt doesn't ship any M4 with a carbine weight buffer, right? An H or H2 shouldn't cause any problem with carbine gas, and probably not an H3 either. Just saying that a heavy buffer probably isn't causing the problem, since a carbine buffer is really too light.

  Ain't no feed ramps in a lower, and Spikes knows way better than to mismatch the ramps between the upper receiver and the barrel extension (I hope).    http://www.predatorcustomshop.com/   Seriously. Or, make Spike's fix it.

  Take it to Predator and give them a few bucks to make it run. It could be a ganked up barrel extension, which requires a real smith.

  I bought most of my knives from them, especially the ZT's. They beat everybody's price, and usually get it to you in a couple of days with ground shipping rates.

Amazon is GREAT. I buy lots of stuff from them. I've been putting a small wood shop together in my garage, and had to buy some gear to finish it up.   Brownell's has had one for a good while. Hopefully, the Arfcom version is a little better. I'll check it out

The BCM bolt carrier is actually test fired before they ship it. Other that that, they look to be of equal quality

  I think Mark may just be trying to keep the money sane. The Grendel is gonna be expensive if done right. Barrel, furniture, and glass are all gonna be spendy. Then there's the reloading gear to build the ammo right. I have all that stuff except for dies. He has shot my 300.

  I'm getting ready to start digging. Gonna start with Ballistic Explorer. I want to push it to 1000 if I can. Once you hit max pressure with the best bullet, about all you can do is add more tube. I'm betting Varget is gonna be the powder. It usually is for stuff like this.   EDIT: OK, I only have 1 Grendel load in my library. 123 grain AMAX. Muzzle velocity is for a 24" barrel. It's doing 1290 fps at 1000 yards. Right on the hairy edge. Zero adjust is 40 MOA from the barrel, and 36.5 MOA from a 100 yard zero. As I figured, a 26 or 28 inch barrel probably won't hurt. Gonna make a terrible squirrel rifle :)   Gotta dig into some more loads. I'm betting the AMAX isn't the best BC you can find. I'll check with Berger and Lapua.
