The vise was holding the work piece, especially after I shot the nail.

Speaking of idiots... I shot a 2" brad into the hardwood vise on my bench last night. Left a hickey when I pulled it out. My nailer must have a 1:12 twist. It's was like putting a 5.56 into Charlie. It went its own way as soon as it found some meat.

  Yep. I was tickled to death with the MOE stock until I got the CTR. I didn't even buy it for the friction lock. I bought it for the QD swivels.

  If you're gonna do a retro (not with these receivers), look at the A2. You can still get all new parts. AFIK, you can't get new triangular handguards. They're all milsurp

It won't suck like a milspec trigger

  I'm a picky butthead when it comes to that. All my other Magupul stocks have friction locks. You can luck up with the MOE. I haven't tried one on a milspec tube, and all commercial tubes ain't created equal. I have an ATI tube in the parts box. I promise it will make it flop :)

  CTR stock, or MOE stock? There's a big difference to me. I own both. The MOE looks cool enough, but I ain't into floppy.

  If you look at the final numbers, several folks seem to be planning on forged upper receivers. I bought receiver sets. I would be as concerned about clashing finishes as the lines on the upper receiver. You can almost hide that in most cases. Greg's case ain't one of them.
