1.   The problem with Grendel is finding a barrel/bolt combo. I think I have finally locked one in. Gredel is more expensive if you really exploit it. But, it's the best performer in an AR. Looking forward to it.
2.   I understand. I've just been lucky with my Caldwells, I guess. Budget isn't a problem for me, other than the fact that it's never quite as big as my list :). I'm a rifle guy, so profile is a big deal to me. Anyway, I'm anything but cheap. I'll take another look at the Peltor stuff
3.   Nothing against Peltor, but the Caldwell cans have held up just fine. Durability is no issue (in my experience), so I would need other reasons to choose. If I was an RSO, or had some other reason to spend regular long hours wearing cans, I probably would pop for the highest durability I could find.
4.   But, do you balls float in the bath tub?
5. That Rock River trigger isn't bad at all. I've read they have a short life, but they feel pretty good to me
6.   He's drier than an 80 year old vagina, but does manage to get it all down on tape.
7.   It's perfectly natural, and even healthy. Get you some more Glocks. We'll let you know when it's time to stop :)
8.   Bah humbug. Get you some PMAGS
9. I can only speak for the Caldwells, but you don't need much more than them. If I use plugs under them, they're the basic foam ones from the Home Depoot.
10. I'll get mine done with my hunk of plastic
11.   It's easy to confuse a crappy single stage with a two stage. The action in an AR is too violent to make a great single stage work. The crappy one works just fine, except for the crappy part.   This is long, but worth watching...
12. AR-15 triggers are single stage. The takeup is just slop. Dolomite's kit removes that takeup. There are several aftermarket triggers that are two stage, like the Geissele line. Bill Geissele doesn't believe you can make a great single stage trigger for the AR. Since I've never seen one, I gotta believe him. The Garand style rifles were 2 stage, including the Mini 14. Here's a good illustration...
13.   I laughed at the unedited version :)
14.   I LIKE that. Brownell's rocks. I buy quite a bit of stuff from them, mostly on the Sinclair side.
15.   You don't crimp at all with cast, right?
16.   I can't remember anybody's number, and they're all in speed dial
17. ... when you sit in the bath tub, your balls float.   (Stolen from Grant Boatwright, RIP)
18.   Don't wanna be pissin' off the police. I read that on TGO :)
19.   I hope he had his Geritol this morning. He's crabby without it :)
20.   It wasn't on the ones that went to D&T. I'm guessing they corrected it at some point
21.   CMT didn't put any phone numbers with the orders when they shipped. Call D&T and give them your real name, and they'll tell you if it's there.n
22.   A milspec AR trigger is single stage.
23.   It's not that bad. It's low RPM and low pressure. You to have to keep adding lapping compound. It's hard to see your progress. And, you have to make sure you don't go too far. I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't a precision rifle. If you're just indexing a barrel nut, you wind up taking a LOT less off. You won't even break through the finish.
24.   Everything with threads will shoot loose on an AR eventually. Every screw on my gun gets some kind of thread locker, except the castle nut, and the gas key screws, and barrel nut. It's just part of building the gun.   And yeah, nobody has a castle nut wrench with them when that sucker turns loose. :)
25. Done. That lapping compound that comes with the Wheeler tool is some nasty stuff. It was a lot of work getting it gone. Anyway, for what it's worth...
