  1.   As usual, the media can't do a lost dog report without screwing it up. Follow the charges. I can only speculate that the numbers on the license plate were probably pretty big. How far do you have to follow somebody to get their tag number?
  2. I messed around until the last minute on my permit renewal. I would rather get a colonoscopy from a Pakistani intern than go to the Driver's License place, so I took my chances by mail. I mailed my application and money order on 12-02, and got my temporary letter late last week. My new permit showed up in the mail yesterday (12-16), two days before the old one expired.   I know you can't count on it every time, but I sure was tickled.
  3.   I don't blame them for that. Those blems are sold at a pretty big discount. I wouldn't warrant factory seconds either. The warranty is part of the cost of one of their new knives. It's a great way to get a ZT user for less money than they really cost.  Any ZT owner will tell you that it's real hard to break one. The 350 is the perfect model to buy in a blem. It's an entry level knife with a steel liner lock. I'm betting they get very few of them back.   They don't bat 1000 on QC, even with their higher end knives. It's not that unusual for them to have to replace a titanium slab because of lock problems. If they have to do that on a heavily discounted knife, they have screwed themselves royally.
  4. Yes they could. They are raising them on large farms these days.
  5. Oh boy. Another group of mad mothers. I carried in a Mickey D's today. Couple of fish sammiches, and no dead customers.
  6.   Yes. Make Grendel the caliber. You won't sweat the ATF wait, because you won't have a barrel.
  7.   I used the flipper on the 200, 300, 350, and the 561. The 550 ain't got no flipper. It's also in my pocket right now.
  8. This is my favorite of my ZT's, and you gotta use the thumb studs on it. Note that they also serve as blade stops. They're much more useful than the studs on any if the flippers. It deploys better than any of my flippers too.
  9. Looks great to me for a 4x. I'm normally careful to keep my scope mount on the receiver rail, and off the handguard. You probably want a higher power scope for just evaluating the accuracy of the rifle. With that said, you're doing better with a 4x than my old eyes could do.
  10.   Those are kinda cool. I helped GuitaRx with his rifle, and he used a Troy Bravo. Fits over a standard barrel nut.
  11. Yep. Just when we were thinking that liberals are idiots, they up and convinced us beyond a shadow of a doubt. One year later, they're still idiots.
  12.   That's the beauty of the AR platform. We can all make something fit in our budget. I'm not trying to sell DD rails. I'm trying to defend them. Kinda enjoying it too. :) Step on over to the Highroad, and they'll tell you that you're full of #### for getting an AR. After all, a Mini 14 is just as good :)
  13.   The T series is a round rail. The DD is an "oval". An yes, the MI is a good rail. Maybe horse dick was a little harsh :) I shouldn't let it bug me, since it ain't on my rifle
  14.   We can play the money games all day. Unless you have held one in your hands, you may not see anything but the money. I got one and put it on my rifle. Then, I got two more. Has nothing to do with precision. Has everything to do with not having a heavy horse dick wrapped around my barrel :). I'm not dissing every other rail out there. Just saying that the DD rails have lots going for them that you ain't gonna see unless you pick one up. It's a Glock vs. Taurus argument.
  15.   I have one Jard and four Geisseles. Any questions?
  16.   Bear in mind that the DD Lite rail comes with a barrel nut AND wrench. All you need is a torque wrench. You also don't have to worry about a compromise torque on the barrel nut, because it doesn't have notches for the gas tube. It's also lighter than most handguards. I own two of them, and don't regret it at all. I own 3 DD rails total. Can you get something cheaper? Always. Can you get something better? I don't know. I just know that I appreciate their rails every time I pick up one of those guns.
  17.   Right. All the free float guards I own rely on barrel nut torque to keep them from spinning. I got lot's of respect for Bill Geissele, but have equal or more respect for the folks at Daniel Defense when it comes to handguards. Very few folks would have gone to the same trouble to make that hanguard fit. Who knows how that little twist made it into the design.
  18.   Yep. Good job. I really like the looks of the Geissele handguard, but not a big fan of the receiver clamping scheme. Not that it won't be rock solid. It's just gonna leave permanent marks.
  19.   Duh. If it was an AR, he would have killed hundreds
  20. Impossible. They passed new laws to prevent that.
  21.   Those whiners need to be tossed into a fire ant hill. Apparently, they've never met any fire ants.
  22. Lapping tool...   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/821295/wheeler-engineering-delta-series-upper-receiver-lapping-tool-ar-15
  23. You're good on vocabulary :)
  24.   Or, do a Dolomite. Load 'em backwards.
