  Colt had larger pins on their "civilian" rifles for awhile. AFIK, they have never had pins smaller than milspec. Quality of some of the parts can vary. I built all my rifles. Never have owned a Colt. But, when it comes down to it, I doubt that you will get crappy parts in a colt.   I have found that the build cost of my guns has inched up over time. Lately, it's way over $1000

I'm real familiar with that area. Lived in Florissant for a brief period. Hung out with a bunch of North County girls back in the day. Correct answer... I would have moved out of Ferguson, at least ten years ago.

  ARFCOM is my go to place when I really need good info. I don't hang out there, but do use it when i have the tougher questions. Not sure if I have ever made a post there.

  I'm talking match grade barrels and stuff. Of course, a free float handguard will improve the accuracy on most guns with a standard handguard.

First of all, an AR-15 is completely modular. Other than the slick side upper receiver, the sport will take any of the parts you wanna put on it. I doubt seriously that Smith and Wesson made any of the parts to begin with.   So... if you want a nicer handguard, just change it out. Until you want something with lots more accuracy, there's no need to upgrade to another gun. All you "may" gain is better reliability in battlefield conditions. For no frills, home defense reliability and accuracy, you would have a tough time fulfilling your needs any better with ANY other rifle.

  Radio has been replaced by the internet? I agree that the music business has changed, and not for the better. That was caused by the internet. I'll agree that there are more music sources out there, and they all get their little piece. Still, radio still has big audiences. It ain't dead yet.

I have friends all over the US, and in several other countries. No other way for me to keep track of them as well as I do.

I couldn't function without a smartphone, especially in my job. I'm on my 5th one. Before that, it was a Blackberry email device and a Startac.

SPAM is a very low quality form of marketing, and gets low quality results. It would destroy Facebook's credibility. They are doing some pretty smart marketing. When I browse for a product on certain sites, the next thing i know, that product shows up in my news feed on Facebook. That doesn't bother me at all. And, it's very effective marketing.   They aren't going to waste their time with petty scams. They're targeting the huge bucks... something I don't have.
