  1. I have started calling it Obola, in honor of our Retard in Chief.
  2. I have the lapping tool. I didn't buy it to line up barrel nuts, but it will do the job

    Glock42

I compared the CM9 to the 42. Laid one on top of the other. The CM9 is beefier. It would be tough to outdo the Kahr.     FWIW, max pressure with the .380 ACP is 19,580 PSI. Max pressure on a 9mm is 35,000 PSI, and 38,500 PSI for +P. Ain't just a matter of digging a deeper chamber.

I got to fondle a 42 last weekend. I'm not a 380 fan, but really like that gun. i doubt that the single stack 9 will be that small and light
  5. That should work just fine
  6. I like buying directly from Geissele. Same price as anywhere else, and they used to throw in some free swag.
  7. I have NEVER had that happen. I wonder if your disconnector spring is upside down. Fat side goes down.
  8. And BTW, I agree that the stock trigger is extra heavy by design. They put way to much cool into that rifle to just screw up the engineering on the trigger.
  9.   Well sure.  That's the story for just about any trigger. Like the stock AR trigger. It's not the best in terms of feel, but it's extremely realiable and cheap. Great design when you think about it. The Geissele triggers (as an example) are much more expensive to make. Like I said, I didn't shoot the Tavor enough to get used to it. I judged it against what I'm used to.   FWIW, Willis agreed with my assessment on suckiness. I think he told me he warmed up to it a little later. fact is, the trigger on a grail rifle needs to be better. The potential accuracy of the gun is going to suffer, just because of the weight of the gun vs pull weight. Doesn't matter how crispy it is.
  10.   I hate it, but didn't shoot it much at all. It was a pain trying to sight it in. But, the only one I have ever shot belongs to Willis. I reckon we can chalk that up as problem solved
  11.   Yep. PM Steelharp. The gun store he works at has a used one for a decent price. I think the store is in Gallatin
  12. One thing we can pretty much count on... Bill Geissele would shoot himself if he put out anything as crappy as the stock Tavor trigger. Awesome rifle, except for that trigger.
  13.   I had a problem with a lower on sale that was showing in stock. It was wait time... weeks. All the vendors you mentioned are same day shipping if it's in stock. I don't spend a lot of time bashing PSA, but they ain't an A list vendor in my book. They do just fine without me, and I'm just peachy without them. Sure can't kick about their prices.
  14.   That just about covers it. I've built AR's, even during the rough times, with the first four vendors. Palmetto Bug is still on my shit list. Nothing against their product, but their business practices just aren't in the same class as the vendors above.
  15. Thanks guys. Found one. Actually wound up getting a like new from a fellow TGO member. Great deal!
  16.   I would think that a compensator is the biggest bang for the buck. Makes a big difference between my two light carbines in followup shots. This whole AR business is a money vs performance tradeoff, no matter how you're gonna use the gun. And, these threads should probably always start with "I have XXX to spend".
  17.   Yep. If Habib decides to blow himself up in public, he's gonna take some dumbasses with him. Just goes to show you... every cloud has a silver lining.
  18.     Of course it doesn't replace skill. We have a budget now. That simplifies things :)
  19.   I wasn't thinking garbage on a gun. I was thinking designed for the job. Check the muzzle...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOHj0VMAD2g
  20. What are you trying to hold up with it?
  21. My tower guy can guide you. He does most of the work on my big towers, but deals with the small ones too. True free standing is expensive, but 50 feet isn't much height. Anyway, he will keep you out of trouble, and tell you where to get the stuff if you can get him to mess with it.   John Hettish Middle Tennessee Two way   http://www.mt2w.com/
  22.   If you get ebola, you will go out covered in your own blood.
  23.   My DD Lite Rails are that way. Torque it to their spec, and move on.
  24. If you are gonna get serious about 3 gun, it probably won't be 500 bucks. I am NOT a 3 gun shooter, but know a little about how they build the best guns. I do own quite a few AR's, and know that I wouldn't try to compete seriously with a bare bones carbine.
  25. He does a great job. Fixin to get some business from me.
