    Ruger LCR 9mm

Just basing it on Ruger's magazines. They seem to understand the importance of handling ammo reliably. If I had to bet on a company doing it right, Ruger would be one of my first choices. I'm not a big Ruger fanboy either. I just have a few of their guns.

I'm betting Ruger gets the moon clips right.

I don't worry about ammo costs. If it pains me, I just reload it. Reloading is freedom. I don't reload any pistol ammo except 45 ACP. I will reload 45 colt as well if I ever get around to shooting up what I have.   One thing to consider... the max pressure with 38 +p is 18,500 psi. The max pressure with 9mm +p is 38,500 psi. The flame that comes out of the cylinder crack is going to be a lot hotter with the 9.
  4.   If he was wearing a little tie, you could have got him outside
  5. Years ago, a buddy of mine encountered one of those snarky managers at a Taco Bell (I think) in Chattanooga. He just reached over, grabbed him by his little tie, pulled him across the counter, and slapped the floor with him a couple times. My buddy passed on a few years ago. I sure do miss him :)

Yep. I didn't realize the 9 had that much more snort than the 38, but it does. Those old black powder rounds sure can be deceiving. Those airweight Smiths sure don't feel that whimpy :)
  7. So... you're saying that $15/hr may be a little much to pay the BK and Walmart crowd as a minimum? :) You can have cheap, fast, and good, but you can't have all 3.

I expect it to be a great gun, just like the others in the LCR line.
  9.   Congrats! There was really no way to screw up between those two.

So, I guess I'm not missing anything.   Reckon they make any 9mm guns that don't need moon clips? :) I have a soft spot for revolvers, and own a couple in .38sp, and one in 45 colt. Can't imagine them redesigning the pistol for this application. I know they will sell some, but probably not enough to support a stand alone design.

I just don't get it. Why would you use an auto round in a revolver when there is a comparable caliber that was designed for revolvers? Maybe I'm missing something.
  12. Good news! Still bet you don't do that again :)
  13.   I figured you would be SOL until the new permit shows up. At least you can carry in the car.
  14. I haven't shot at Southside since they opened up the 400 yard lanes. I'm guessing you will drive to the targets.
  15.   You can order duplicates. But, I figure it's kinda like pissing on an electric fence. You're probably only gonna do it once :)
  16.   You might be surprised. 400 yards is a pretty long trip to the target.
  17. Sounds like the guy may have just been totally wigged out. The girl needs to hit the gun store.
  18.   If you're not shooting from a stable rest, I doubt that reasonable runout is going to be a factor. Just holding to less than a half moa is something I probably can't even do anymore without a good rest. You can drive yourself crazy with all the ammo tweaks that some of the benchrest guys do. I think in some cases, they get more enjoyment out of dinking with ammo than real results.
  19. That looks like it will work as well as my Sinclair neck gauge.
  20. I mean democrats in general
  21.   From what I have seen so far, the military is building extra hospital facilities and stuff like that. I'm betting that they will be pretty isolated from the locals and their bugs. Getting a bunch of our folks killed over there would be worse than political suicide.
  22. Bet you won't do THAT again . Don't know about multiple copies. Just do yourself a favor and don't tell them why you're asking :)
  23. A lot. Would have hurt worse if it went off.
  24. I'm a Smith and Wesson guy. With that said, there's nothing wrong with the Ruger. They will both work well and last. Don't be afraid to pick the one you like best, just because you like it.
