  1.   I haven't had enough coffee to read his essay yet :). My bad. AFIK, the last meteor that was big enough to stand a chance of punching a permanent hole on the ozone layer killed off all the dinosaurs. The result wasn't global warming.
  2.   You're confusing me now. Meteors hit the earth when they start out big enough to reach the ground without burning up.
  3. If it does what you need it to do, and doesn't die before you feel like you got your money's worth, then it's all good. Chances are, you won't be handing it down to your grandson, but so what.
  4.   I doubt it. It's "stainless steel". Can't imagine it being even the lowest level of cutlery grade steel for that price. I'm sure Wally World got some volume pricing.    With that said though, It's hard to call it a bad deal if OP gets satisfactory use out of it for the price. Makes a lot more sense than me opening cardboard boxes with an Elmax blade :). What's the best stuff to get shipping tape off a $200 knife? :)
  5.   Ever heard of a Jennings pistol?
  6.   Not for 5 bucks :)   BTW... this is a very good knife that Walmart sells for a reasonable price. I own the stainless handle version that's more expensive. Ken onion IS a knife guy.   http://www.walmart.com/ip/CRKT-Ken-Onion-Aluminum-Ripple-Folding-EDC-Knife-with-IKBS/17217881
  7. My guess it that it won't hold an edge very long. But, it's hard to be disappointed in a $5 knife.
  8.   An extractor is 14 bucks. The real problem is that the bimetal (steel) jacket on the bullet significantly shortens barrel life. I have a ton of Wolf, and saved hundreds on the purchase. I won't buy any more of it, since I reload 5.56 now.
  9. And my response to them...
  10.   Damn, you're good at this :)
  11. There's a reason they distribute those things for cheap in PDF form. Y'all have discovered it. I'm not so sure that $500 is too much to pay for the real autocad files. I drew my own floorplan in Visio, just to be able to do some of the work on my house. It was a lot of work, and doesn't include all the layers that would be required for permitting, especially if they require stamped drawings. Sometimes, you just gotta pay for professional services.
  12.   Glad to be helpful. :) You always gotta ask, where's the beer?
  13. I have never dealt with an architectural firm that didn't use autocad. Been around since the DOS days. It may be clunky, but it does everything you need to make buildings. Solidworks rocks for 3D.
  14. I just finished some drawings that started with a PDF printout from archtectural drawings in Autocad. I was able to grab some dimensions and create my own base drawing from the PDF. but it's impossible to do the edits on a PDF file. AutoCad is an object oriented program, and acrobat is just a glorified picture. I had to do it, because it was easier than prying the original file out of the architect's hands. They don't like sharing their Autocad files.   So, everybody is telling you right. Print the PDF, mark it up, and get the architects to make the real edits. It's usually a simple thing for them, if your idea doesn't bite into the structural and/or mechanical designs.
  15.   Yep. Other than a modification to hold a couple of beers, it has everything :)
  16.   Yep. Glad I will be able to say I knew you guys before you got famous. If Willis wasn't keeping me broke with those dang switchblades, I would be after both of you right now.
  17.   2' knife! Now yer talkin'! Probably needs to be a fixed blade, though.
  18.   SMKW is proud of their stuff. Cool store, but...
  19. The dual serial number idea is great. I'm sticking with one, but was tempted. This one makes five Protechs for me. Gonna wait a little while before I make that number bigger. And yes, I'll regret it later :)
  20.   True   :x:
  21.   Ferguson isn't exactly the garden spot of the world. He should see it as an opportunity.
