BTW Fred, I'm with Fitty on lapping the upper receiver and bedding the barrel. I have done that on several rifles. All indications is that it improves accuracy. I just use Blue Loctite for the bedding compound.,

  I revived an old iphone that had been in the drawer for years. The battery was deader than Bernie Sanders' pecker. You don't need battery to retain the information. I have a solar charger for cell phones. 

  Much better. Excessive voltage is the enemy of solid state junctions. Tubes are higher voltage devices. So, the voltages induced in the circuits are less likely to exceed the normal voltages in tube circuits.   That has been tested, BTW.

I'm betting it does OK at the range :)
