When hesitation almost gets you killed
Pain103 replied to crc4's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have seen many officers over the years become more dependent on the taser. I was a taser instructor at one time and honestly, I have seen them not work more than they did work. Too many factors to get that desired effect. Loose baggy clothing, distance, firing while moving, or a dart missing completely. Now if you tase someone and they fall and bust their melon or whatever else it's on you. I gave it up after a few years. But it was always another option if appropriate depending on the situation. -

I agree. I've been in law enforcement for 20 years and know the dangers associated and never asked for more than a paycheck. I believe we in law enforcement should not be the aggressor when it comes to deadly force except for those few instances such as active shooter. I'm not saying law enforcement officers shouldn't defend themselves but as a whole society expects you try to deescalate when possible but there isn't always that possibility. As this demand for de-escalation has grown it has caused officers to hesitate longer before using deadly force. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can be depending on the situation and how people choose to react on both sides. -

It is a double edge sword. You arrive and immediately neutralize a deadly threat people and the media slam you for not deescalating or say your trigger happy. You hesitate to try deescalating and hopefully talk people down from that edge they are on it can either work to resolve situation with no deadly force or bite you in the backside if they chose to keep on. -

I think you are stretching it saying THP and TBI are trying to make laws. -

I think if more people understood the numbers of blood kits, DNA samples, and rape kits that were submitted and the time each takes and amount of forensic scientist they would be shocked. The new scientists will help but realistically you want a state lab it has to be funded and staffed to be the state lab.

I’m interested in getting a box or two of subsonic 556 or 223 rounds. Would prefer it would cycle properly. I have no first hand experience so I’m seeking opinions good or bad.

Been awhile since I did a pistol but I believe they should check the box that says firearm not pistol or rifle.

$50 wow. I've never heard of anyone above $25 for just a transfer. I would assume you know the reason why the issue even popped up and get it resolved so you don't have that problem again. Could be something as simple as a court disposition never submitted to the right people and it flags on the background.

I'm thinking about setting up a group to try this place for some boar hunting. Anyone here been there and if so, what did you think? Thanks

Remington 870 tactical 12 gauge. Has an old model surefire front-end light installed but will come with factory front. Also has an ambi sling plate installed. Still had the back plate from a previous shotshell holder that was installed. Unknown round count but this was carried for several years as a duty gun and I used to shoot many extra shells during range time. $400 obo. Face to face near Goodlettsville, must be legal to possession and own firearms and TN resident.

Glock 27 gen 4 with three standard mags and one glock 23 mag with a sleeve to give your more grip. Two of the standard mags and the 23 mag is full of duty/SD ammo. Also has night sights, Truglo I believe. Unknown round count I have had this for several years but works perfect. I only have one of the backstraps that came with. Also the standard box. $450 OBO. Face to face near Goodlettsville must be legal to possess and own a firearm and be a TN resident.

Question about police parked on the side of the road at night

It’s to see in the cars and watch for behavior. I never used a spotlight just head lights in the past. People up to no good tend to have some pretty noticeable movements and expressions. -
