  1. Is he a poodle mix?
  2. Can we get someone to be Todd and Margo?
  3. I thought that name had been outlawed haven't heard it in years.
  4. I'm thinking about taking the plunge and buying one soon. It would primarily be for concealed so I'm thinking C2 rather than the P. Anyone on here is personal opinions that have owned and carried one? I appreciate the help.
  5. It isn't Christmas without Eddie!
  6. Man, that has gotten more people in trouble than an angry ex.
  7. Yep, those never go away. I get the distrust but to me and only me the benefit of having a permit and being able to carry in other states without fear of prosecution out ways the fear of being known as a gun owner.
  8. Have you ever purchased a firearm through a FFL? If so, there is already a record of you being a gun owner.
  9. I would assume now most patrol vehicles have a rifle rack. They lock but if can be unlocked if the switch box has constant power or a key override. I had a burst sub gun at my last department it stayed locked in a flat gun safe in my SUV. I haven't seen many vehicle safes or racks that couldn't be pried open by someone determined enough. Also, most vehicle's alarms don't activate with broken windows, I've literally watched numerous vehicle burglary videos where the suspect breaks the window with a rock or spark plug and climb in the window then hit unlock and the alarm never goes off.
  10. I had this discussion with TWRA previously about carrying on the priest. None I spoke to could care less about a responsible person carrying especially concealed. It's the drunks and dangerous boaters they were worried about. But good to know they helped you out.
  11. You get the benny of being considered a resident of two states.
  12. I mean the brace ruling worked out so well for them.
  13. It was Sgt. William Cherry that was killed. His funeral was today.
  14. That's why you make sure you live in the general services district of Davidson County if must live in that county.
  15. Yeah you're not going to be around $500 for that. If it was my vehicle only and my fault, I wouldn't claim it. You could go ahead and get some quotes and give the guy a week to come up with the money but doubt it will happen. I would just assume I was filing under my insurance. Have you read the crash report yet to ensure no insurance was documented? He may not be the vehicle owner and there is insurance coverage.
  16. Not bad, as having investigated self-defense shootings I do appreciate number 1. Many people don't want to say anything initially which is ok but if I know at least a little something it helps me produce a working theory of how it occurred and allows me to picture the scene better. This is actually pretty standard practice among law enforcement, give a brief what happened, then contact attorney and give interview after a few days. I definitely don't fault anyone for getting an attorney because I would. As far as avoidance I think some people or areas believe too much into this. As long as you are somewhere lawfully you have no duty to avoid or retreat, but it does tend to help. Worked a case where the victim attempted to avoid confrontation twice by driving away. Suspect followed and went for number three and found himself on the losing end of a bullet. DA agreed to the self-defense claim and first thing that was said was something to the effect of wow he tried to leave twice, and this guy kept coming. But on the other hand, if you know certain events are going to happen or more likely to happen and you avoid putting yourself voluntarily in that situation it looks better. May not change anything about the legal outcome but probably helps the image. My personal opinion only is maybe throwing some verbal warnings in there if possible.
  17. We do have some drones assigned to various personnel, but I don't know that you would get much heat signature from certain things we are looking for and the canopy coverage in some of these counties makes using a drone ineffective as searching by foot.
  18. I investigate homicides and missing persons as some of my job duties. Not a recreational activity.
  19. So, I'm interested in opinions or reviews of handheld GPS units. I'm looking for one eventually to put in my pack I use when having to search terrain for evidence/bodies. Primarily ease of use and be able to mark points of interest like spots where certain items were located and be able to give those coordinates to aircraft or other people. Any help on where to start would be appreciated. I don't even know if this is a feature but if I could use it to track path already covered would help.
  20. They ended up getting sent to club fed.
  21. That sucks. Good luck with it. I almost wonder if you have some matches to someone with a criminal record and it's flagging you like an alias or the same person. I mean I've seen criminal histories over the years pull possible matches with same names and DOB similar or pull alias the suspect used with a dob that actually is a person. Once that gets entered its there forever. I mean within 10 minutes of reading it usually a human can tell its not the same person when the confirm everything to the other pages. Either way good luck it's a shame it happens.
  22. Is there way to clear up the issue that is getting you flagged? Not trying to ask your business but if it something you could get fixed like maybe a disposition to a case that was never sent in might be worth the hassle to get someone to do their job.
  23. Permit covers handguns. I think this past session there was a bill to allow loaded long guns but failed.
