Tennessee doesn't require insurance to register a vehicle and there is no way to check the status of insurance via our computers. We basically have to take it at face value. Some states link insurance information to the vehicle and it will return along with the registration if ran.

Tenn. police allowed to carry personal AR-15 rifles
Pain103 replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Luckily I've been carrying my own AR-15 for years. I like it for two reasons because I know the condition and cleanliness of it and nobody can mess with my sights. Actually every gun I carry on duty is mine pistols, shotgun, and rifle. -
Besa mi culo. This isn't the first time they are stickin their nose in American business. They were trying to get more of the AZ immigration law thrown out through the 9th Circuit.

Employers Requiring The Right to Search Your Vehicle

4th Amendment wouldn't apply to a business or private person. It only applies to government and its agents. -
I see the problem of people not moving out of the way for emergency vehicles has been around forever. Atleast they didn't have audio of the driver's comments..lol I know I have some funny narrated videos in my car.

Home defense and hearing considerations
Pain103 replied to PolePosition's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You don't know how your hearing or other senses are going to react. You may be able to hear over the blast or not. Your adrenaline will be pumping so much it depends on how your own body reacts. Also shooting inside is going to make any weapon louder than shooting outside. I don't change caliber for inside the home versus outside. I use the same two pistols I carry daily. -
Goodjob David, Whats with the spike in anti gov overthrow the world crew?

You need to read the entire law and the immunity sections. Just like any other law you have to read it in the entirety to ensure there isn't a section to provides exemption or limitations to other parts.
-
I believe you are talking about a civil rights lawsuit typically brought under the 1983 act. It is actually coded as 42 USC § 1983. Apparantley under section 8.2.A.4 there is Legislative Immunity. This applies from the federal level all the way down to the local level and has been upheld by the SCOTUS. So I believe that provides them with total immunity.

I'm sure they can't be sued for passing a law. Probably would fall under qualified immunity or something similar.
-
I'm sure they are doing pat downs of some people looking for the suspect may have believed he fled to a nearby house or whatever. Patdown would be justified with reasonable suspicion of a weapon. If they were entering homes it was probably due to two reason community care taking/exigent cirucmstances. Like immediate action needed to evacuate people to save lives or other reasons you kick and go. But wasn't there can't give a explanation but this would be my first guess. Awful incident people are getting more violent towards first responders regardless if it is a medic, fire fighter, or police officer.

"No-Refusal" checkpoints throughout Tennessee this holiday season
Pain103 replied to a topic in General Chat
Somebody with no knowledge and a chip on their shoulder runs that website. THP will conduct sobriety/DL checkpoints as they usually do. They are allowed by statute to inspect driver's licenses. There is no search. The forced blood draw law has nothing to do with this. That statute mandates a forced blood draw on someone you have probable cause to believe it impaired and is DUI 2nd offense or more, involved in a crash that results in another person's injury, or DUI with a person under 16 as a passenger. -
Will never happen.

Nope not required. I don't have any lights on if I run radar or laser off of the actual road. I could still have them on and people would speed like crazy.

You are a little extreme with your logic but it is yours to have. But name calling on the internet doesn't do anything but make you look bad. -
Now the question is will the wife or girlfriend let you have it back? lol Good luck on the job.

I'd recommend doing research before just joining the Oathkeepers. Make your decision wisely. -
I use a vicks ultrasonic humidifier and love it. My sinuses dry out causing nose bleeds so this helps decrease that greatly. The higher the moisture level is set the more I notice the nearby area has moisture. I would never go back to an old school humidifier after using an ultrasonic.

Haven't messed with cards since I was little but they use to make those Beckett magazines with values of cards. Is that an option for the cards alone? There was a sports card store in Goodlettsville never been in it but next time I work I'll drive by to see if it's still there and operational.

The .08 level everybody refers to is just a limit TN has passed that says you presumed intoxicated by alcohol for a DUI. This level is never mentioned for any other intoxicated related offense such as poss. of handgun under the influence or public intoxication. That .08 is just a level of intoxication but any alcohol in your system is considered under the influence of alcohol, it doesn't mention drunk. It doesn't even have to be alcohol many prescriptions are controlled substances and will put you under the influence level. Everybody here is an adult so you make your own decisions but I don't see a gray area alcohol in system = under the influence.
In all reality. You can carry AFTER having a beer, just not WHILE having a beer in a restaurant. but that's a personal choice.
That's incorrect. TCA 39-17-1321 (a) covers possession of handgun under the influence. 39-17-1321b subsection applies to drinking while in an establishment while armed. You can't be in possession of the handgun while under the influence. There is no per se influence level for this statute like DUI has a per se level of .08 BAC. I don't even risk it. If I'm going to have a drink the gun stays at home.

Disarmed in a traffic stop
Pain103 replied to tennessee01tacoma's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You and many people jump to assumptions about this situation. None of us where there except the OP and none of us know what the circumstances where in this interaction at all that is a fact. The Monday morning quarterback comment is for people who want to tell others how do their job after the fact. If you can do it better then get hired and do it. Just having a HCP doesn't make you a saint or even a good person believe me I've seen some people who should be in prison and gang members with a HCP. While at the same time I've known several good people and even family members that are HCP holders. I even have one myself. If you are disarmed and don't believe there was a justification then complain. But don't jump to conclusions about someone else's situation unless you where there. Now in my experience I have never disarmed a legally armed HCP holder. I give them credit due to my experience and interactions with the many I have encoutered. I don't want to disarm them just like I wouldn't want to be disarmed. But if in a situation I have articulable facts to explain I may have been in reasonable fear to disarm the person during our encounter it will be done. Hopefully that never has to happen but if it does I will do what I am legally allowed to do to ensure the safety of myself and the other person and conduct the business at hand. Now I don't assume automatically HCP holders are threats due to that fact alone they are treated like anyone else I encounter and will continue to do so unless they make the situation change.
