  1. I have always assumed it came from the original paramilitary style grooming standards.
  2. What exactly could they be arrested for? There is no criminal charge for a kid throwing a rock in your yard. It wouldn't satisfy littering. Its all civil and nothing the police can do about it unless they were throwing rocks at certain property trying to damage it.
  3. You could check Youth Villages. Contact local juvenile courts and they could drop some names of their commonly used ones.
  4. They use their IT department for a lot of things and some not many detectives have some special training. Check with a company downtown called Logicforce consulting. I know a former officer that works there doing computer forensics. They do criminal and civil cases they might be able to help you.
  5. Well reporting standards are slightly different then the laws. If I were to say I'm going to punch you in the mouth and didn't actually use the physical force I could be charged with assualt but the report would be classified as intimidation. Also reporting standards also says an item use as a weapon to committ an assault is to be classified as an aggravated assault. But the item say might not classify as deadly weapon or cause enough bodily injury to be charged under law as aggravated assaulted. I don't know anything about the other states' reporting standards to compare them to ours. But I would think there is some way they are evened out like a standard way of reporting from their state standard into NIBRS. So just knowing how our reporting standards are if the agg assault category is the one causing the most problem I wouldn't worry that people are consistently being beaten to a pulp or shot at. I'm surprised our robbery totals aren't higher. There are tons of drug related robberies that happen daily and we have to report that as a true robbery even though they stole the dopeman's drugs and iphone.
  6. http://somers.dailyvoice.com/news/supervisor-somers-police-justified-pro-gun-sign-removal According to this story it was on city property not the man's front yard.
  7. Check this target out. The lines of the zones get real fuzzy beyond about 15yds. http://speedwelltargets.com/cart/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=315&zenid=eb44c383a0235dc8219504bde01a5dd9 Oh yea... good shooting.
  8. The Danner boots are good. I bought a pair of the Acadias few months ago and somehow either I had a dumb moment or the pair I tried on and the pair I bought weren't the same size. So I have a new polished pair that are one size too big. Most expensive office decoration I have!

It takes a few months before a case is presented to the Grand Jury. The DA's office here in Davidson County dictates when our cases get presented.
  10. You drinking that Haterade again?
  11. 2003 Wrangler Sahara here. Just bought it about three weeks ago. Now I'm constantly looking at the weathee to see if I can drop the top.
  12. Ridge airtac boots are the most comfortable out of the box. The problem is after a few months you can start getting a squeak from the air cushion. They are decently priced. But The Danner Arcadia boots are good and will last forever and can be resoled. But they are pricey! I would just start out with ridge airtacs until you decide if you need to spend the money and know you will need the boots for the job that you will remain at for a good period of time.
  13. The link didn't work for me. What's the nameof the song so I can look it up?
  14. Too many numbers! I think my eyes are permanently crossed.
  15. As long as your name is the name listed on the front of the title as owner you only need to sign the back selling the vehicle to the person. It has your name, their name, address, mileage, and selling price. If two names are listed as the owner and it has "and" between them on the front both signatures are needed for the back as sellers. If it only says "or" between then one signature will work.
  16. You realize violating a city ordinance is a fineable civil offense not a criminal offense. No record or arrest. It is similar to receiving a citation for a codes violation like uncut grass. The only way you could be arrested for municipal code violation would be refusing to sign the citation.
  17. Actually it is 12 months. So points acquired on say today are on there until next year but the entry remains on the record. This is as long as it is sent to the state. If you do driving school it would show an entry of court mandated traffic school but no violation and no points. Points on the record after 12 months are not counted for suspension or revocation.
  18. Since it says Donelson I assume you were sent the notice from Davidson County. Check out the following link and contact them for clarification. http://juryduty.nashville.gov/portal/page/portal/juryDuty/home/
  19. I guess the officer should have known the law. They are lucky to settle for that low of an amount.
  20. Many labs have a high drive and need extra exercise and play time. A good ole fashion tennis ball being thrown can help. They have that retrieving drive and it helps them get some exercise. Also if the dog is on lead/leash when correcting them always use verbal along with the lead correction. If you are worried about interaction between the dogs get them on lead around each other to get the initial tension out the way. Let them sniff and correct the dog if they start becoming aggressive. At one year old the dog still has puppy in them and will behave that way at times. Just maintain dominance and don't accept letting the dog begin bad behavior.
  21. You have just been a ray of sunshine since joining. I don't know your past involvement with law enforcement and really don't care. A weapon doesn't make a man so disarming cops isnt the answer. You do have the option of trying to get hired and change things to improve what you think is a poor image of your law enforcement.
  22. I thought the program was stopped due to the Arkansas Attorney General's opinion.
  23. So oversized white t-shirts are now black cultural clothing?
  24. I've been wanting to start researching the family history but I'm not quite sure what resources to use. Any suggestions? I've seen ancestory.com but haven't heard any feedback so I was hesitant to pay for it.
