1. So, would building a pistol caliber be a waste of a good billet pair? Any reasons not to do it?
2. Im in for the win. Now the decision to build a pistol caliber or switch my .300 to the billet and build the spikes as a pistol caliber
3. That seems about the going rate.  Check gunbot, Freedom Munitions remanufactured is all .25 per round, the same as OP.  Georgia Arms is new ammo for the same price but still have to factor shipping.
4. I'm here. Litespeed C1
5. So I clicked on the TGO link on CMT and it shows no products. I'm logged in, what am I doing wrong?
6. More illegitimate laws to punish the already law abiding. If people were interested in committing crimes with suppressor they surely wouldn't buy a trust and wait 6-12 months for a suppressor. :puke:
7. I spend LOTS of time in the woods, and I have never seen (or peeled off my face) as many spider webs as this year.  I dont know if it has to do with the extremely wet summer we had or some othere phenomenon, but its pretty agravating.
8. My wife is graduating Med School in May, so we are going to have to ammass a good kit for our car.  As a Dr she will be required to offer medical assitance when neccessary.  Plus it will be good for our personal use, God forbid we ever need it.  I need to get working on this.
9. I ended up buying the Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40. The price was right and the glass was really clear. I'm sure he'll be pleased. It's the first new scope he's had since like 1975 :)
10. Maryville has 9 boxes of WWB 38 Super +P.....odd
11. Everything Noveske seems to be "unicorn" status
12. for the record, the only FTF I have had with the CMMG is when I was resting on the mag.  when the mag is free to move, no jamming whatsoever
13. yeah, I agree 7/10 for minute of squirrel, using Remington Thunderbolts.  Using CCI mini mags you may get 8 or 9
14. I have the CMMG Stainless version.  It works awsome.  Its not supper accurate, but great for punching paper for cheap (umder normal ammo situations.)
15.
Ignore my initial statement about eventually getting a suppressor. Let's assume the only thing to be attached to the end of the barrel will be a Noveske KX3 (pig), if that even changes anything. The idea of going with a pistol is to keep it as small as possible. Something that will easily fit into a backpack would be nice. Reliability is also important, of course. Has anyone with a 8.5" or 9" barrel noticed any issues with ammo? I would like the ability to use subs to supers, if at all possible. Am I asking and expecting too much?
Honestly, with pistol length gas, adjustable block, AND a pig, you should be able to shoot any length you want that's commercially available. (Even without the pig, but gas block might need more adjusting) I would look at all available. Core15 - 9.5" Noveske - 8.2" Alpha Shooting Sports - 8.1" CMMG - 8.5" AAC - 9" Rainier Arms - 8.5" (several options) Availability varies, some are in stock, some aren't. Also if you buy a Noveske it should come with a non-adjustable block, but should run both subs and suppers (according to them), I'd put a pig on just for added pressure (and looks :D)
16. Zero. I could eat them every day.
17. It was close. Maybe there was some good Mojo in those uni's. It was an awesome day in Neyland Stadium yesterday. Haven't experienced that type of game in several years. Definitely hate we lost, but proud of our boys. They fought to the end.
18. Any 22lr chamber that's not semi-auto. They're too short to feed from most magazines. I've shot them in my 10/22, you just have to feed them one at a time. Depending on how the bolt action feeds they should work. But if all else fails just use them one at a time. Nice and quite
19.
Can a tgo upper be made into a 9mm?
I'm not sure the caveats of building pistol caliber upper. From what I understand any upper can be used but that's as much as I've found. But don't worry Lester I WILL find the answers and let you know. I think like Luke said, most uppers are standard with the brass deflector and short dust cover. But I've read most times the brass doesn't even touch the deflector. So I'm not sure if any other tricks to building one.
20.
I'm also looking into pistol calibers. I've been wanting one for some time now and I've pretty well landed on 9mm. I was thinking seriously about .45 but a while back another TGO member, a childhood friend and I were out shooting on the friends farm. We had targets set at 100 & 130 yards and decided to take turns shooting pistols at those distances. My M&P 9mm was shooting fairly flat at 100 and a couple feet low at 130 and then I switched to .45 which was like 10-12' low at 130. I wasn't upset about it but it made me lean heavily toward the 9mm for an AR upper. Not that I'm looking to get an ultra precision long distance rifle out of it but I wouldn't mind being in the same zip code at 100. The 10mm sounds intriguing though. I'm not familiar with the cartridge other than its a .40 projectile. What would you compare it too? Btw, Rock River has some decent pistol uppers as well as CMMG but that's about as far as I've gotten with it.
You have to remember velocity increases with barrel length. So a .45 bullet will obtain higher muzzle velocity out of a 16" barrel than your pistol. 10mm is just like .40 only 1500fps :D and that's out of a pistol. Carbines can push up to, 1700-1800 FPS with true 10mm loads. Most factory 10mm is loaded weak to prevent unsupported chamber failures (certain model pistols). Double tap and Underwood ammo load to full potential
21. Man I'd be happy to get together. I have vise block for the upper. I just use an old steel mag as a lower block. Works fine. All we'll need is someone in knox with a bench and a vise
22. link?
23.   6.8SPC and .300 are the most comercially available.  .300 isnt super cheap but it was really becoming a normal availability befer Sandy Hook
