1.
they are coming out with a gen 2 version that eliminates the detent pin. The adjustment screw is a set screw that clicks. http://youtu.be/ykukUFgC0R4
That is a nice improvement. I will own one if it's not too ridiculous in price PS ARFCOM says they were supposed to ship to Brownells by end of November but they had no control over how long Brownells takes to get them on their sight
2. Since you already have the Eotech I'd say go for the magnifier if most of your shooting is mid range. Let's face it you are gonna wanna use that xps since it's new. Tough part is the good magnifiers are almost as much as the red dot. You can shoot 200 yds with the magnified dot. Just remember if you have a 1 MOA dot that's 2 MOA at 200 yds without magnification. You should be able to get minute of pie plate no problem with a 3x mag
3. my suggestion also would be to buy a magnified illuminated scope.  It may not be as apealing as a dot (1x on the scope) but it will work better on the magnified (4x) than the combo.    The problem some have with a variable power scope as a red dot is the inability to shoot with both eyes open and see the dot.  So I guess it all goes back to the main application of the rife.  Are you thinking CQC with some more mid range shooting form time to time, or are you wanting to do more mid-long range shooting or hunting?
4. FSU's schedule is week, that point is not arguable.  Are they #1, now that is arguable on the bassis of how well they have played in those games.  Same goes for Ohio State.  If they both take care of their buisness I'd say we'll see two teams with weak schedules play for a NC.
5. FSU sucks. They are barely better than a class 5 high school team. They will lose to whoever they play in the NC game regardless of conference....and their QB is a felon. Disgraceful. :stir: :hiding:
6. Well actually you can burn a large chunk if you catch a dry time and a good wind. We had one in Morgan county (referenced above as Gobey) that burned 1,200 acres or so. Nothing devastating just burned the brush and scared some trees.
7.
And golby has burned twice in they last few years that I know of I don't know if somebody caught it on fire or natural causes I'm not here to fight or threaten just hate to see it happen if it does you are Right private owners has right to rules and again I apologize for any punctual mistakes .
Gobey has only burned once of significance and that was arson. But just typical redneck asshole with no sense of responsibility. I was referring to when we leased Gobey for hunting a few years ago and the locals went ape ####. Still the point remains. Private is private. The state now owns 10,000 acres on Bird mountain and an easement on 20,000 more acres spanning across Landrum Mtn all the way to Pea Ridge. That's roughly 30,000 acres of free hunting land. No WMA permits, no special quotas just open land for hunting enjoyment. All within a short drive of Coal Creak. As for the punctuation; I understand some people are inexperienced with computers, it just makes it hard to understand without a few comas and periods. No real harm just seemed like you were ranting.
8. Can I buy some punctuation? First off this is a privately owned property. Any past history you or your family have on this property is because the owners allowed. You have absolute zero rights and zero ownership on that tract. It is not public and never has been, although people like to think like it is. People have threatened to burn Gobey for over a decade over our management decisions and it is always false threats. Big deal....light it up, hope they catch em and put em under the jail. Your rant is not only incoherent but it's offense to all private land owners. No one comes to your house and tells you how to mow your yard, what gives you the right to tell Coal Creek how to manage theirs?
9. Don't count them chickens just yet
10. Depends on the dealer. Dealers with normal businesses usually take cards, smaller and private deals are cash. I'd take cash for the entrance fee
11. I was there, got a call from the fraud dept at my bank that some douche nozzle was racking up charges on our account. So needless to say I had to leave a deal with that. I hate I didn't get to hang with the crowd.
12. The answer is.....it depends. Deer need about 2-3 quarts per day per 100lbs. So a 150lb deer needs 3-4.4qts. Deer lose water through urine, poop, and panting. So this time of year unless being run by a buck they may not pant much. Deer also get water from food. So it depends on what they eat. Things like cat briar are high in water content where acorns although 70% water are small and don't provide a significant water source. So food is a contributing factor. Really the best way to tell is set up a camera and start patterning the deer in correlation to time of day and temperature.
13. That's 2 miracles in one season. I wouldn't count on any more.
14. Bought a bottle in Knoxville. Truly a great addition
15. Ammo, yes. Reasonable, no
16. I see those in-stock often at the Dub-Mart
17. I'll be there. Let us know when and where you'll be
18. The g30 shoos eat any Hollow Point. In reality the 1911 should too but in some cases they don't. In my 1911 I used to carry the Hornady XTP ammo with the polymer filler in the hole that helps feeding. I don't know if it helped but it didn't hurt. I would start with Hornady or Remington Golden Saber and just test them and see how they work. I don't carry FMJ in 45; hollow points perform just fine.
19. Had three does come I to the kill zone this morning. One came in to 15 yards (I was sitting on the ground ) but alas Unit B Morgan can't kill does until two weeks
20. Glock 20, hands down. G29 is a close second.
21. I can't see any reason it wouldn't work like that. Honestly unless your taking it to a TWRA officer manned check in, I doubt you would get any flack. As long as you could prove the sex of the deer and had the appropriate license. Of course I've cut one in half before to drag it out because it was too heavy and steep. No one said anything about that. Once it's checked in it should be legal to process however you like. The key will be having cell service.
22. Ohhh a CMT upper now THAT I would definitely call and ask them about. It would certainly be worthwhile if the price is good
23.     are you concerned about building it yourself?  otherwise I would see not advantage to have them do it.
24. THey have some other good deals too.  Phosphate BCG for $109, being one of them.
