No but I bet you could find a 357 mag lever gun and send it to JES reboring. They can rebore, cut rifling and chamber a barrel for about $250. Pretty much the same length and only .050 difference in case rim diameter. Wouldn't take much at all to make it work.
Thanks I'll check I to that
.41 mag lever actions are highly coveted by those that do want them. Any reason aside from just because, over a .44mag? .410" and .429" isnt that different as far as bullet diameters go.
I have other .41 and reload for it already.
-
Anyone ever see a lever action .41 mag? Marlin made one for several years all the way up till the early 2000's. The ones that pop up on gunbroker are ridiculously priced. Just wondered if anyone ever sees any for sale

All looks good. With the barrel threaded 5/8-24 you'll have to get an appropriate compensator most will be labeled 762 with that thread pattern.

Yep looks really good for 100yds and 4x. If you got some precision ammo or handloads you could probably tighten that up even more. It a 10x scope. I'm young and 4x is hard for me to see .223 at 100yds -
We can play the money games all day. Unless you have held one in your hands, you may not see anything but the money. I got one and put it on my rifle. Then, I got two more. Has nothing to do with precision. Has everything to do with not having a heavy horse dick wrapped around my barrel :). I'm not dissing every other rail out there. Just saying that the DD rails have lots going for them that you ain't gonna see unless you pick one up. It's a Glock vs. Taurus argument.
DD doesn't own the proprietary info on how to make a light rail. Are they the top of the pyramid, in my opinion yes, but you can get a great lightweight rail for a considerable discount. DD lite rail 10" - 12.1 oz $299 MI T-series 10" - 12.0 oz $169 I agreed the DD is awesome, but the MI is good too. I would rather sink the funds in a good FCG if budget is of any concern.
So that pistol tube was able to still reach the buffer retaining pin using the end plate? Meaning, aren't they sized to be screwed in all the way to just catch it, without plate width? And if it sizes to it now, seems it would have been too long without it? Looking great. - OS
Yeah, they are designed to use an end plate. Just no castle nut

Yep, big shout out to David for the "members only ammo". I know he caught some heat for not selling to others that saw the ammo being sold. But he stuck to his guns to support us!!! And that's why I only buy from him

Joeboboutfitters I believe has them too. Pins and pin kits. Would be there fast
If the bullets you shoot don't go into the target sideways at hunting distances, and will shoot in an acceptable group. I wouldn't give much thought to twist rate.
Well if you shoot 40 grain bullets out if a 7 twist they might fly apart before they ever get to the target. Going in sideways isn't that bad as long as it's on target. Bullets flying straight but spinning too fast may not perform as described. So it's definitely a consideration that needs to be made. The key is to choose a reputable expanding hunting load with as much mass as possible that your gun can repeatably put in a kill zone.
out of curiousity, why do you not like the 2 piece handguards? will a 12" rail cover a rifle length low profile gas block?
I believe you'll need at least 13" to cover the gas block
thanks tricky, i'll watch the videos. some of the links had free shipping. once i get ready to order i will shop around a little more, just trying to narrow down my choices. jack, i want a quality, accurate rifle but the wallet is getting thin. is there a rifle length rail similar to the DD that is well built and cheaper? i have thought about a gas block with a rail on top just since it will set out in front
Yeah I would look at Midwest industries. Should save about $100 over the DD. Several to chose from. Both one piece and two piece. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=149 This one would compare to DD. It's not a DD but it's a good product. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=1109
i have now built 3 lowers but this will be my first upper. another member on here is willing to help me put it together but i need some help with all the parts. i have the tgo upper, charging handle, bcg, forward assist, and dust cover(i my change it). i think all i need now is barrel, rail, gas tube, and gas block. anything else? does barrel nut come with the rail? what about delta ring, what is it and do i need it? here are the links to what i am thinking about, will all of these work together? any suggestions for something cheaper or better? Can you find cheaper, sure, better....debatable. If you're looking at a Daniel Defense rail you're not on a shoestring budget. They are awesome, but pricey.
If you run an adjustable gas block it is easier to tune rather than the spring kits. Also, having the gas tuned correctly keeps the gun a lot cleaner, reduces felt recoil and reduces wear.
