1. I use just plain Jojoba Oil I got from Whole Foods.  Its a nice conditioner but has not scent, which may be desirable or not.  I don't shampoo mine everyday either, usually every other day or two days.  I will use some condition only without shampoo, that seems to keep it from getting too dry.    I like these guys too, not a Tennessee company but good fellers.   http://dreambeardoils.com/
 2. I was looking and Rainier has a mid-weight barrel (26.8oz) that is CHF and double chrome lined (not that I could wear out a normal one). Interesting for sure, mountain series. Definitely not the cheapest barrel, but nice. I'm leery of going full LW. Is there a sacrifice in accuracy there? https://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=4117 Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 3. Actually measured again last night after snow stopped. 3" in driveway, 4" in mulch bed here near Cedar Bluff in Knoxville Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 4.
You could go with a Rainier Arm rail to shave some weight and definitely loose the stock. The Rainier free float tube only has a top rail and the rest is smooth but is threaded for custom rail sections. Most any other collapsible stock will be lighter than the UBR. Once place you may not have thought about is the barrel. Either buying another barrel with a thinner profile or having that one thinned. I took over a pound off my wife's 9mm barrel without any affect on the guns functioning. If the person who is thinning the barrel turns it on its centers the accuracy might improve accuracy. Most barrels have bores that are not centered and the only way to do that is to turn it concentric to the bore.
Definitely thought about swapping the barrel. Never considered having it thinned. I think new, shorter rail, and a LW barrel would do wonders, then I can consider the stock after that Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 5. I think he's overbearing and talks too much. His videos are 30min, and could easily be done in 10. I've never been able to sit through an entire bullet point video. He has good info just not conducive to my ADD. I certainly don't hate him. Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 6.
Get a new rail and stock, YHM makes good stuff but they tend to be heavy. The UBR stock is notorious for being HEAVY. If you're looking to cut down on weight, look at Magpul ACS or VLTOR E-Mod, if you want to be out less money, go with a Magpul CTR. For rails, if you HAVE to have a quad rail, get a Daniel Defense Omega, it's supposedly one of the lightest quad rails you can get OR go the route I was going to when I was building my SPR, go with a Troy Alpha rail that uses bolt on rails.
If I swap the rail, I may change the barrel too. New rail will be key mod or similar with only top rail. I really think if I could lighten the muzzle end I might keep the stock. Start from the front and work backwards I guess Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 7.
I'd say part it out. What forearm is it exactly? I might be interested
It's a YHM predecessor to the diamond series 13". Was installed when I bought the gun. Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 8.
Id think something styled like the DDM4V7 would fit the bill.
Pretty much exactly. Just don't know if I should build a replica or what Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 9.
Are you looking to go as far as a polymer lower to reduce weight?
No, I don't need feather light. If anything it's front heavy. It's a good shooter now but with a 2lb suppressor you'll need a second person to shoot it Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 10.
Seems your better off parting it out. A whole rifle rarely equals the sum of its parts.
Yeah probably true, I was just wondering if that rail being a few years old would sell. The stock could sell for sure, but who knows. 11. So I've determined my AR is a heavier than I'd like. I would like to use a suppressor (when that gets here, someday) and it's heavy too so I thought I should do some changing. So the question is, should I sell the current rifle which is great, or swap parts to make it lighter? Current rifle is RRA LAR-15 YHM forearm over gas block Magpul UBR stock Plenty of weight to be saved in the stock and forearm, but is there more value in the gun as a whole? 13.
Knoxville's done for. This place is closed. Might be a good time to engage the 4WD and head over to WalMart to see if there's any .22 ammo.
Hahaha, very true. We have probably 1.5-2" here in west Knoxville. It varies depending on the area of town Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic

 15.
Funny! I was just looking at this topic last week. Autism increased 23% from 2006 to 2008 and 78% from 2002 to 2008, according to one study. Are those numbers right? It seems unbelievable to me, but... If so, it would seem that the most likely culprit would be a new food additive. Kids have been vaccinated for decades, whereas new chemicals are introduced into our diets regularly. Take Splenda, for example. It (sucralose) was introduced into the US in 1998 and now holds 62% of market share of artificial sweeteners. I'm NOT saying Splenda causes autism... I'm just using it as an example of how widespread a new chemical can become in only a few years.
The number of diagnosed cases of autism has risen that much, yes. But it's more due to the spectrum of "autism" widening to encompass a lot of forms of disorders. 15 years ago most people didn't know what autism was, and now it's every pregnant woman's biggest fear. Hell 30-40 years ago they just called them retards (sorry it's true), 20 years before that they put them in mental hospitals. Be careful with"statistics" they're easily manipulated. One thing is true there has been absolutely zero scientific link between autism and vaccines. The doctor who originally made the speculative link, has been discredited and lost his medical license. HE MADE IT ALL UP, but shhhh don't tell Facebook it might implode. Sent from my iPad using Voodoo magic
 16.
Not having an adjustable gas block is what had me concerned. I keep hearing so much about the need for one on a 300 Blackout pistol, so I've been afraid to buy a barrel with a non-adjustable gas block.
Noveske is the exception to the rule. Theirs are different, like oriental said, they have the gas black pinned so it's properly aligned and the port size is optimal for all ammo. That's what $360 gets you. If you want to save cash, then big a $170 barrel and a $60 adjustable block.

 19. Has anyone seen Noveske barrels in-stock? I've been looking for a 10.2 300BLK and cant find one.  Midway has a backorder but I think my suppressor will be in before that barrel....crazy.
 20. thanks guys I'll certainly know where to look now
 21. anyone say precisely where this store is?  Its address is listed as US 27 south.  How far past Dayton heading south?  easy to spot?
 22.     I never touched a hot stove either.  and not from experience, but because when I attempted to, I was correct by and adult.  That's the main problem here, lack of education and discipline among children.  There is a point where children are too young to understand and you cant rely on them to act accordingly but as they grow up its certainly can.  My dad had all our guns in his closet, loaded or otherwise.  I was taught to respect guns and if I was curious, just ask and I could see them.
 23. I saw the preview.  they basically leave a kid in a room with a hidden camera and an unsecured gun and are shocked that the kids pick them up and point them at their heads.  Its no surprise to me.  If you have small children, secure your guns...simple.  There I just saved you and hour of your life
 24. The exemption allows you to kill hogs basically by "any means necessary" including bait, spot light, or any of the combo. They just want you to keep track of hogs killed and the method used. Plus, a number of performers for old fogies too, seems: Paul and Ringo, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, etc. - OS
I'm in just to see the last 3 on the list. Kris is supposed to be getting lifetime achievement, should be good. I do like Stevie too
