1.
It would probably be worth a call to Whittaker's in KY. They will almost always have the best price if they have it and they usually have as much stock as anyone, but they go through it fast. You can also send them a PM on Facebook as sometimes that is easer as thier phone's can be hard to get through on. https://www.facebook.com/whittakerguns
I've sent them 2 messages about models in-stock. They have 41 10/22's and none are the models I want. Basically I want a wood stock without the barrel band.
 2. Must have been a good deal cause it sold. I saw one at the gun show today for $330 +tax TICS, and thought that was a little high. Didn't try to haggle though, probably should have.
 3.
Well, the Sporter is only higher because of the stock, so I guess the shape it's in determines whether it's worth it. Btw, Ruger doesn't currently show a Sporter in stainless, but guess they offered it in the past, or it's a distributor exclusive maybe. - OS
Yeah, there is dealer exclusive through Lipsey's. Condition appears like new. I sent him a message, we'll see if he replies.
 4.
Price, some where between 325 to 400 dollars, who has them, all I could find is "please call to check in stock".
There is a stainless version, used (10rds supposedly) locally with box for $350. Too high?
 5.
Bus's had the best price with free shipping last month when I got my wife's. I'm on the phone or I'd link it
None in stock that I saw
 6. Anyone know where a Ruger 10/22 sporter can be found. And what's a good price for these?
 7. I spoke with (and bought from) David this morning. Always enjoyable time
 8.
Looking forward to seeing him in Kingsport.
Hate to break the news to ya, but Rex renigged on the deal to let David come to Kingsport.
 9.
The bill wouldn't change the TN time zones. Just that both of them would be an hour later than all the other states in same zone for 4 months of the year. The national status quo being what it is on the matter, I'd call it another case of doing badly what need not be done at all. - OS
I guess I just don't see the hoopla. The issue is still that you are (or not) an hour different from the neighbor state, which is the same as moving from one side of the time zone to another. Other counties and states do it and they don't seem have issues, at least not enough to make headlines. I honestly don't care either way, I just don't see that it's an economical issue.
 10. I really don't see the issue. Out business is in Kingston, but 70% of our client base is in Central Time. Every now and then there is a mixup but you learn to manage it. I understand those who don't live or work near the time-line don't comprehend but it's really a non-issue.
 11. Just curios, what are we engraving on?
 12.
Called T.A.C and they do a laser engraving but it's not really what I'm needing. They can remove the coating to engrave but say it doesn't really engrave the metal (much). What I'm really looking for is more someone who could engrave basically a roll stamp depth design.
Contact Mike at Law Enforcement Sales. He had a CNC machine and told me he could do NFA requirements. I don't know about designs and such.
 13.
What would you do with it?
Not throw it out on private property, first off. Otherwise I don't give two shits what they do with it.
 14.
So no laws were broken. No reason for people to be up in arms crying foul.
Well it depends. I have to assume those who dumped the yote were not owners of the land ( since it's an investment fund in Chapel Hill) and if they were hunt lease members they were in violation of the terms.
 15.
We understand that. It's still illegal to dispose of an animal on public land! Dave
I agree. I'm dumbfounded why they just threw the animal out. Also, it's private land ;)
 16. Edited title and first post for clarification. This animal was simply tagged using standard practices AFTER it was killed
 17.
well that explains it. thought the body looked too normal to have been taped up for days and suffering but its hard to tell in pics sometimes. I can see it for a competition, though it seems like it would be easy to cheat and remove a block, insert your own. I know, I know, hunters all all ethical esp when there is a prize on the line, but still, seems like a flawed system.
Yeah it was a healthy looking animal. I never thought for an instant that it starved.
 18. Never liked that sorry excuse for a gun show anyways. Now I have a viable reason not to go
 19. Ok so I googled "kill block". It's common among competition hunting. The block has to be placed in the mouth and secured. I guess it keeps the mouth open before rigor sets in allowing inspection of the teeth. I like many here was concerned it was done prior to death, but I guess that's not the case. Still don't know why it was dumped at the gate
 20. Found this coyote in the woods near Camden Tn yesterday. Someone had obviously thrown it out after it was killed, as it was dumped near a gate. None of that is unusual, except its mouth was bound with tape, and a block of wood in his teeth. Anyone figure out why? ETA: THIS IS DONE TO RECORD THE KILLING OF GAME WITHOUT DAMAGING PELTS
 21. Well I guess I'll continue to NOT attend those shows.
 22.
I can't stand Eastern Timezone where everything starts an hour late.
You mean on-time...;)
 23. I plan to buy a Hi-Lux Leatherwood CMR-AK762 It's an illuminated 1-4x24 with an AK-300blk optimized reticle http://www.opticsplanet.com/leatherwood-hi-lux-1-4x24mm-cmr-ak762-illuminated-tactical-rifle-scope-for-ak-47.html Seems to be a quality scope that won't break the bank. If more magnification is needed I'd look into the nikon p-22 2-7x30. The reticle will be real close to bullet drop and you can use nikon spot-on to get reticle yardages.
 24.   maybe I was using a punch that was too big!  I never thought of that, could have been hitting a lip in the block?  I don't know.  I couldn't get the taper pin our either (and yes I was hitting it from the correct side as well).  I put it in a vise and gave it some real, man size, smacks with a hammer....nothing.  I could have drilled out the gas tube, but the taper pin was giving me such fits, that the whole thing went to mike for disassembly.
 25. Well Mike at Law Enforcement Sales has it now. I got tired of beating on it. I'll update with his results.
