  1. hahah, so we have 3 garage spaces a double car in the back and a single car towards the front. All the crap is in the single car garage. But soon I will be building a workstation and cabinets in front of the GX so no doubt the accumulation of crap will begin in this garage.
  2. I think they design is cool and I'd buy one if money were no object. Reality is though I'd have to trade my Lexus GX460 for one and I'm not sure I'm willing to do that for a year 1 production. I'll probably just keep the GX and buy and 1st Gen 4Runner as a toy to keep me happy. That's today's prediction, tomorrow may be different haha
  3. Any water below a damn like Norris will fish well all year. The water comes off the bottom of the reservoir so is mostly consistent temp aside from the solar heating in the summer. You won’t get may fly hatches so nymphing is the ticket. I can’t speak to the French broad but any freestone stream that holds trout will be slower in cold water temps (below 50), but fish still gotta eat, they just don’t move far so you gotta out that fly right in their face. So finding spots where trout will hold is very important. Like pocket water, riffles to the side of rocks, anywhere were food is funneled and they can sit and eat without expending much energy
  4. It breaks my heart to read his messages here about being ill and scared and to now know he didn’t make it is truly saddening. I met Mike a few times in person and always enjoyed hearing his stories of the music industry. RIP my dear friend my prayers are with his family now
  5. I bought a .30 YHM Phantom M2 QD and love it. I use it on everything that’ll fit down the tube. .22, .300BLK, .308, .223. Yes it’s not as quite as dedicated .223 but it’s good enough, as Rotten mentioned above .223 is loud no matter what you do. Most of the suppressor use is with .300blk just because it works so damn well. I have a bolt gun and it’s silly quiet. If I buy another it will be a dedicated .22 just because they are inexpensive and will save lead build up on my .30 cal
  6. Nah, I’ve had a beard that big in recent past but that’s not it. That’s John Noveske this is me
  7. bingo bango
  8. I'd take it tomorrow if they offered it. My wife will likely get one in mid-late December as her hospital already has 900 doses in route. They will not be given a choice, it will be a condition of employment. I'm not sure the chart is correct as far as I've seen they have not trailed the vaccine on any children. My wife(physician) seems to think they will actually be last on the vaccine list unless they are otherwise immunocompromised. I think most people who don't want to take it are just scared that it was rushed through the system, and will have major health implications later. Most of us have never seen a vaccine trial like this in our lifetimes, even the old folks, its never been done. Timelines are stretched when emergency status isn't warranted, but when the world is facing major infections they can get the same work done just much faster.
  9. She had colon cancer in 1999 and then they discovered Pancreatic in 2009 due to the regular screenings she was receiving because of the first one. Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer is a no doubt death sentence, just a matter of how it responds to treatment and where is has spread.
  10. I saw a listing today of some bull#### brass .223 500rds for $450. It’s really ridiculous
  11. Awesome! Was this self supported hunt? I've been looking at getting a guide hunt in NM or AZ maybe next year with the intent of gaining enough knowledge to go alone or with my boys when they get bigger
  12. Ahh terribly sad, a true legend
  13. I actually think its an ultralight not an Accumark, that was my mistake. My uncle purchased it and quoted the $2499 new price. I agree with all the other statements and appreciate your input
  14. Yeah, they told me the biggest issue is moisture and you can co trail that with a dehumidifier. I was the same as you in thinking that it should go inside. I’m not worried about theft as much as child safety and general nosy guest safety. If someone wants something they’ll likely get it if they have enough time. Adding a switch to the hole alarm is a cool thought I may do. Bolting them down is the biggest theft deterrent as event the less expensive safes need to be laid down for easiest access. We could put it in the master closet but would have to remove some custom shelving and not sure that’s what I want to do. I have an office that I’m really leaning towards as a likely indoor location. I want it indoors mainly because I’m a pussy and don’t want to sweat while fondling my guns daily
  15. Probably be 950# ish. I’d pay the company to deliver but do you think it would risk damaging the stair treads?
  16. So I’m looking to purchase a gun safe and need some opinions. The Safehouse in Knoxville recommendation was to put the safe in the garage and bolt to concrete. They said that safes inside a home are often total losses in a catastrophic fire. Placing the safe in a garage gives the safes fire rating a fighting chance at saving your contents. That’s all well and good, but I hate the idea of going out in the garage to access guns or valuables. the house is two story on a crawl space. The downstairs is all 4” red oak hardwood floors as is the common areas upstairs, and the upstairs bedrooms are carpet. I have various location both downstairs and upstairs to place the safe. On the carpet I’d lag it down no problem but what do folks do on hardwood? tl;dr - does anyone put safe on hardwood floor and if yes, do you bolt it down? If no, are the options to keep from tipping over. Kids safety is the main issue for purchase to begin with
  17. It’s a sign of the current state of the market. Huge demand low supply. Manufacturers learned in 2012 they don’t have Toni crease capacity as the demand will level off eventually. Prior to Covid and election year the firearms and ammunition market was pretty soft.
  18. FYI, It appears that only the version with CR123A batteries is 26% off. With final shipped price of $61.13. The rechargeable version shows $90ish at checkout.
  19. watch out the ATF will shoot your dog
  20. That's my fear as well. If you're not shooting long range or elk, or elk at long range most don't want that beast of a caliber
  21. Thanks for the input, I agree. I’m finding the same thing looking around. Yeah, sad part is I think he paid almost $900 for the scope new
  22. That's certainly a good option and I will check. I'm not sure. I've been looking at Armslist nationwide and it seems these guns are being listed for less than they are asking.
  23. Short backstory, my cousin passed away last year of colon cancer at the age of 45. He left behind a wife and two young daughters. He was an avid hunter and his father was able to sell most of the guns he had with the exception of this one. I assume due to its high value most locals looking at adds in the bulletin board just aren't looking for this quality and expense. So my question is, where would you all expect it to sell price wise. I'm thinking about purchasing the gun myself to then resell. This would get the money to his wife and kids that need it most and then I could resell and not be in a rush. But I can't really afford to take a big loss, so opinions of price and how easily you think it would sell here on the board. This gun has only been fired to sight in scope and shoot one antelope. Less than 10 rounds total fired. Main questions are 1) separate scope and gun for easier sale? 2) is price too high, if so what's reasonable ask? They're asking $2,500 obo Weatherby Mark V - Ultralight 26" 300 Wby Magnum, stainless fluted barrel - New Price $2,500 Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50 - New Price $875, discontinued available on amazon for $480 Share thoughts please
  24. For the second year in a row I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in the Shooting Hunger sporting clays charity shoot at Nashville Gun Club representing the Tennessee Dept of Agriculture. This year our team came in 2nd. Pretty cool for a bunch of hacks. It’s so much fun and a great time every year and the best part is the money goes to feed hungry people in Tennessee. If anyone is looking for a fun shoot check out their website for next years events. they have Middle and West Tn events with an East Tn hopefully coming next year in the fall. https://shootinghunger.com/
