Not true to my knowledge. I will find out 100% tomorrow when I go to the office.

AEDC is a quota hunt that requires a drawn tag. Definitely something to plan for next year.

Welcome man. Glad to have you.

You can hunt Cedars of Lebanon State forest as well. Same as statewide rules. Nothing special, same for Franklin State forest.

QDMA works, but I can't imagine how it would work on such a large landscape. Deer with poor genetics have to be culled from the herd as well as keeping the Doe to Buck ratio healthy. But most importantly antler restrictions help insure an even distribution of Buck ages. Often in heavy hunted areas all the bucks left are yearlings leaving no mature good genetics (that are proven) to breed. One reason Western Ky has such big bucks is because of the ample supply of food. Tons of cropland, soy beans, corn, etc. I think the 2 buck limit is trying to preserve some of the buck population without dealing with the PR nightmare of trying to install a system with antler minimums. TWRA certainly doesn't make decisions based on the best management of the animals. Simply see the wild hog fiasco

Be careful the standing tree may not be able to support you. The worst thing would de the tree fall over with you in it. Those look like either Alanthus or Palownia, easily identifiable if i were there, just going off the pictures. Either way they aren't long lived and the amount of rot isn't discernible fro. The outside

How much? Let me know if you're serious -
I really enjoyed the bottle of Pappy 15 I had. Hype be damned, I liked it a lot. I would buy another if I could walk in pay and not have to hound anyone, I really hate asking repeatedly for stuff, and then they have to be the gate keeper of who gets some and who doesn't. I hate more than anything that Elmer T Lee isn't on the shelves now, that was one of the best buys period, and no one cared until he died, now its like a unicorn. I quit asking for it, I got a bottle about a year ago and haven't opened it yet, but its not long for this world. Time to drink it and find something else good.

Oh I can identify the problem. You're just confused as to where you stand in that problem.

You have spewed nonsense throughout this thread yet you have not mentioned one practical thing we or YOU could do to change this. Oh besides shooting at refugee buses.

Im so glad you are here to enlighten all us simple folk.

I use 10 round mags on my .300Blk. Simply to save weight. I can carry spare mags more comfortably but in reality have never shot more than 3 times at any one deer and that was a scope issue.

Mine arrived yesterday but got home late. This thing is sweet. Fits great in the pocket for its size. Fires strong. If anyone feels the safety button is tight, squeeze the blade closed and the tension on the safety will be lessened. Mine worked flawless the first time but then I pressed the fire button while the safety was on, and it was very tight until I reckoned the blade. Just FYI -
I'm no doctor but I married one, so if you need any advice or don't understand anything I'd be glad to help you get the right answers. Of course this is if you want to share, if not, that is completely understandable. Just know I'd gladly help.

Unit 4 will be very open in a lot of places. Tons of glassing to do. I agree that pack horses are a good idea if you are familiar with handling them and get good ones. Nothing worse than a tired stubborn horse, you are on their schedule once they decide to quit "packing" Unit 4 area is unique, its 4 points or more, but units to the east allow spike kills, so they herd size could be extremely variable. Don't be discouraged, you'll have a blast, but be prepared to trek and glass for the Elk. The cover type will be lots of grass and Sage in the lower elevations and some juniper in the upper elevations. Still all of those species are low height shrubs. You will find some timber along creeks, Aspen, cottonwood (low elevations) and depending on how high you go you may gets some patches of Doug Fir, or Spruce. But those will be patches. You should have plenty of opportunity for viewing long distances.

If GMU 3 is where I think it is (due north of Meeker) elevation should be around 6000ft. So yes physical fitness will help but not as crucial as over 8k. You'll feel fine under normal walking around but start hiking out in the field and you can become short of breathe very quickly. I lived in Meeker for 4 months working for the Forest Service. The Elk are up there, just so much depends on weather and rut variable. Should be plenty of open range, juniper type cover
