Guy claims he dropped his carry gun in bathroom( Kahr PM9), disharged and shattered toilet cutting him with the toilet shrapnel. Debate is over...dropping the gun or playing with the gun

Sounds like she needs a Commander size 1911 in satinless steel. big caliber and can come pretty, plus a thumb safety. They can be tough for smaller people to conceal ( I dont know if she is small Im just sayin) but I say if you can carry a .45 why carry a 9mm but thats just me, others would disagree. But price may be a problem, be patient and she'll find the right one.

I agree with IzzyIssac I wouldnt hesitate to buy a Kimber but I would stay with at least a 4". If you have prob Kimber will make it right. Any weapon you buy thats not from a custom shop has a chance of problems. It just the nature of mass production of ANYTHING. I have a 4" Kimber Eclipse Pro and it runs fine. If $1300 is in your price range buy this one from the classified thread http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-classifieds/35323-custom-1911-fs-ft.html It'll be better than anything off the shelf

I have the LaCrosse Alpha lite 3.5 non insulated and couldnt be happier. For turkey season I dont like insulation (too warm) but for deer season I wish I had some. I wouldnt hesitate getting the Lacrosse but either way Rubber is the only waterproof

Lets not forget that these are fire protectors as well. A good $1000-$2000 safe will withstand a house fire for (some) between30 - 90 mins. I would bolt it to the floor just for good measure. BTW its still a safe, just because someone can break into it doesnt mean its not a safe. Its better than the old wooden gun cabinet on display for the world to steal. And I surely cant afford $6k for a safe, I wouldnt have any guns left to put in it

well the feed ramp HAS to be at 31 degrees or the hollowpoint rounds will nosedive. The Ultra (3") models have had reliablity problems because JM Browning desinged it on a 5" scale and with some models 3inches is just pushing the design beyond its limits. Others may have a more intelectual answere....

I dont understand why you cant have both? Just because a gun is nice and shiny doesnt mean it can't run like a scolded dog. I keep my guns clean and greased/oiled, they'll work, I can assure you of that.

I just bought a Kimber Eclipse Pro ll, used. I think the gun is very accurate, doesnt have any feeding problems, I grease mine and use Wilson Combat mags. I agree with SteelHarp about price, you can buy a Springfield Loaded for less money and get the same performance. But I like the looks of the Raptor better. But I like my Kimber, even tho I havent owned it long. You'll learn those that love Kimber "LOVE THEM" those that hate Kimber "HATE THEM". Dont be suprised if you get varying opinions

Its the basic Para PXT. Its the basic single stack 1911 Para makes. If you count the rounds it seems like he is mostly using 8 rnd but some 10 rnd mags. If you watch part 1 of the video he explains the model he is using.

thousands of rounds are test fired by manuf. compies all the time...they just dont put it on youtube. And lets not act like Todd Jarret is just some redneck wasting time. If your "sponser" gave you ammo and said test our pistol....we would do it too

not trying to thread hijack but what position on the body clock do yall wear your crossbread?

jinx, sorry for the echo

often times its not the gun hitting the floor but the person trying to catch the gun as it falls that discharges the weapon, I would assume story is not exactly what happened

+1 Great store, always helpful and gracious to those of us who like to just look sometimes. The range is fairly new, I've heard its nice but don't know from experience.

Winchester White Box 45 ACP Duds
Lumber_Jack replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I wish I had kept the rounds or tried to fire them again, that would solve the gun vs ammo issue. I had no idea they would possibly fire on a second try. I dont think its the gun it only has a little over 2k rounds thru it. But I do have a new firing pin spring so if it happens in the future I can try some things ie 2nd try, change firing pin spring and try round again, etc -
Went to the range today and shot 150rds of 45ACP. 100rds of WWB 230g FMJ and 50rds of Speer Lawman 230g TMJ. I had 2 duds in the 100rd WWB. I ejected each round and the primer had been struck but nothing happened. So here is my question, does that happen alot with WWB ammo? I have shot hundreds of rounds of WWB 9mm and all were flawless. Also is it safe to just throw the duds into the spent brass pile, I am sure it is, but still makes me feel a bit uneasy sometimes. By the way Speer Lawman ammo was good!

ok for $575 would you buy this over the SIG P238? I dont think I would, but thats just me

get a sub compact glock, ankle holster and wear jeans. sure its slow(er) to draw but nothing else fits your requests. I have a LEO friend and he carries ankle holster sub-comp .40 cal, he also has a belly band that works well for him. He is tall and lean as well.

Iv seen ammon in both crossville, and cookeville walmarts this week, mostly 357 sig 45 ACP Winchester White Box 100rd!!!! 9mm Its making its way back, boys

+1 for midway I have the full size range bag MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag PVC Coated Polyester Black - MidwayUSA I love it, the only draw back is you can pack so much stuff in there that it can get heavy. But it is great. If you want a full size bag with a smaller removable bag I would get it. Its on sale for $39.99 wich is the same price as the compact. Just my The advantage to this is that is, like stated earlier, it comes with two gun rugs which are nice

March 2010 Guns & Gear Expo Canceled
Lumber_Jack replied to TGO David's topic in Events and Gatherings
I must agree that a spot in Nashville, although a long drive for me, would be the best location to reach the most available tennesseans. Due to the geographical shape of TN it just makes it impossible to choose a spot that will be truely central to everyone. Chattanooga would be good for me, but I doubt many west tn residents would make that trip -
Walmart in Crossville has 2 boxes of 100rd Winchester White Box .45 ACP. they also have some 50rd boxes of .357sig and of course plenty of .40S&W

Coal creek in Knoxville carries the MTAC, Im not sure if they have one for your PT709. If your this way then stop in, but otherwise just buy online from CTAC or Crossbreed, they are like Ford vs Chevy from what I have heard. Or you could always go full leather and get a milt sparks or similar.

If you want the power of 44 Mag in an Auto then go with 10mm, if you are ok with a lesser velocity, then I would just go standard glock, XD, M&P semi in your favorite caliber 45, 40, 357sig. If your ok with revolver then I agree with the GP-100 in a good 357 magnum. IMO 44 is just unnecessary for close range self defense, as far as autos, if six dont save ya, im not sure 10s gonna get the job done either.
