  1. Anyone in knoxville know where I can find loose steel ball bearings in various sizes under 1" diameter? I Know I can buy them online but I would rather just go pick some up.
  2. I love my Ruger BH .41 mag, such a cannon. I hate buying ammo for it though!
  3. If that doesn't make sense, your thinking about it too much
  4. holy thread hijack batman, what does this have to do with OP's question? 7+1 in the gun, spare 8rnd mag weakside back pocket... .45
  5. These are amazing, saw one in person while fighting forest fires in Colorado some years back. It wasnt very big maybe 15-20 ft tall, but still very awe inspiring BTW this can happen anywhere there is a wildfire is caused by the extreme heat updraft
  6. Just got the M-TAC holster for my 4" Kimber 1911, and I must say it is very comfortable. I had be using the Galco Summer Comfort which worked good but with a heavy gun it was cumbersome and pulled my pants down at the conection point. So for anyone wondering, if your gonna carry IWB, Id recomend this holster. Just sayin Inside Waistband Holsters - Minotaur Holsters - products new home - Minotaur MTAC Holster
  7. well lets have a pic so we can see how nice they are!!
  8. he could also drive to Outdoor Junction in cookeville, exit 288, thats about 30 miles from the Peavine exit. They have a brand new indoor range and a friendly staff. I dont know of any IN crossville but I'm sure there are some. He could go buy Dave's Pawn and Gun and ask those guys, its on North Main St, beside Sonic, they are pretty helpfull.
  9. if its a carry gun, then I would be proactive in checking and keeping up with round count on the spring. if its not a self defense issue, just wait till you get about 2000 or it fails to return to battery. Id still stick with the Wolff Springs
  10. yeah man, that spring needs replaced. Once it stops returning to battery the first thing to check is the recoil spring. I have an eclipse pro, had the same problem, and fixed it the same way! Id say 2000 rds is about the life of a spring. Id buy Wolff springs to replace it with. Id say 800 is a little low to be replacing the spring.
  11. Fentress/Overton Counties more hogs than Ive seen anywhere in TN. Im a forester so Ive cover lots of counties. The problem is finding land with permission, but its there if you look
  12. Thanks Hex So what do these guys do from June-Dec? hmmmmm
  13. you're assuming someone is checking for voter cards. Hell they're probably paying illegals to vote
  14. He did that on purpose. See the people who were "lacking representative votes" were, youngpeople, african americans, latinos, and women. He is trying to conjure up the same votes that got him elected to keep his congressional majority. If more middle-aged white people voted he couldnt guarantee his minority(racial) bias to gain democratic votes. His main points in campaining were that not enough minorties vote thats why a Republican like Bush had been in office for 8 yrs. This was basically a vote for Dems in november so I can keep ruining this country but remember these are just my opinions
  15. I've heard others talking about there "not being enough time". How does this process work. Is there a deadline for the vote. Sorry for the ignorance of our legeslative process
  16. Make sure your belt is snug as well. before carrying, and still now while not carrying , I have a tendency to wear my belt a notch lose. Just something I developed and keeps my pants from falling off but not secure in place. While carrying I secrue the belt nice and snug, this was uncomfortable at first but just because I was used to wearing my pants loose. Just remember if your pants move your holster will move! Also a quick sharp upward draw will help prevent the holster from following the gun. Just enough to free the gun then smooth with the follow thru. Just my two cents
  17. Im overseeing the thinning opererations on hundreds of acres of timber today. I breath a fresh breath with every tree that hits the ground. So refreshing!
  18. Eric will most likely be headed for Kansas City unless something crazy happens. I am more impressed with Bradford after seeing the interview with John Gruden on ESPN. If you havent seen Gruden interviewing draft picks its pretty good.
  19. I agree with Jcochran88, shoot the longest shell it can hold, and get a turkey specific load in 5 or 6 shot. If your gun in chambered for 2 3/4" then just get those. Lets face it all the equipment in the world cant kill a turkey without the hunter doing the work. So if you have a 20 gauge just know your limits. How close does the bird have to be to kill and not wound. Here's what I'd do. Go buy some shells, get a cardboard target(or turkey silhouette) . Shoot from 10, 20, 30, 40 yds. See how the pellets cover your aiming point. Once you dont have a good coverage over a spot the size of a turkeys head, thats your distance limit. You can kill a turkey with a .410 but he'd just have to be close. And dont worry shooting isnt the hard part, its getting the bird to come in to begin with. Good Luck
  20. +1 lets make no assumtions here, the HCP test is not a training course on how to shoot. If you use a laser and qualifiy I see no problem, I think its worse to use a weapon you wont carry than to use a laser on one that you will. Plus Im no expert but Im surely no novice, but I still was nervous during the qualification, so I say take the class where she can use the laser if she is nervous, it sure makes things easier
  21. well I applied on March 10th, printed on 13th and mine was in the mail box today April 9, so Id say it wont be long. Thats 30days counting weekends, 22 buisness days. Its pretty good now that all the rush has died down.
  22. Qualified on March 6, applied on March 10, fingerprint March 13, HCP in mail today April 9th. Thats exactly 30 days counting weekends from application to permit in hand. Thats pretty good if you ask me, especially since its really 22 buisness days. Seems they have gotten there ducks back in a row in Nashville
  23. I dont see why not, there sure isnt a rule from the state saying you cant use them. Maybe a certain school offering the class may say something, but I doubt it. When I qualified the guy next to me used a .22 revolver with laser grips!
  24. I took my class yesterday, and our instructor asked for more experienced shooters go in the first group. So I and 8 others volunteered. One guy in my group did not qualify. I heard the instructor say "theres just not enough on target". I looked and there were very few holes, and our instructor only counted shots on or inside the 7 ring. Guy was older but not over 65, I am not sure what his prob was. He was shooting a Kahr 9mm. I felt bad for him, but its a simple test, I dont think he has to take the whole class again but just the shooting part. Its always a good idea to practice at least once before qualifying. Im experienced and still shot 50rnds on friday to freshen up.
  25. I often carry my Ruger Blackhawk .41 magnum 6" barrel. I have yet to shoot a deer with it, but its only a matter of time
